Burnout - what are the stages? Defined as the state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion it is caused by excessive and prolonged stress. You might stumble into a burnout when you feel overwhelmed, emotionally drained, and unable to meet constant demands for a longer period of time. The stages of burnout include initial enthusiasm that can rapidly transform into feeling unable to cope anymore.

In this video I spoke with a clinical and organisational psychologist Cornelia Kastner to explore what the different stages of burnout look like in more detail.

Cornelia Kastner is a clinical and organisational psychologist specialising in work-related stress, organisational culture & employee engagement. She’s also trained in positive psychology coaching and works as an adjunct professor at Vienna Webster Private University and as lecturer at Sigmund Freud University in Vienna.

What she said at the beginning was so accurate. The stages are interesting.
Burn out is so associated with the health care professions, yet, doctors (not all💕) cant see it in their own collegues. We're not expected to be human and if we show human traits we're reminded that we're not supposed to.
There are always those one or two doctors who give a comforting "we all go through it. You just have to remember that youre human and you need to take care of yourself to take care of others."

I learned about 10 stages of burnout, but none of them is an increased satisfaction. Perhaps you may really mean decreased satisfaction or increased tiredness or increased slowliness or increased unconcentration?
