What time is it there right now and what are you thinking about?

When you're surrounded by all these people, it can be lonelier than when you're by yourself. You can be in a huge crowd, but if you don't feel like you can trust anyone or talk to anybody, you feel like you're really alone.

I’m actually lowkey burned out but not sure
I’m so demotivated
I’m so addicted to video games
I’m no longer studying everyday
I no longer care about the important thing
I no longer step out of my comfort zone
I feel like what I’m doing is all pointless
Please help

Even though there is a split in the screen between the "depression" and the "burnout" cartoon figures, the fact that they acknowledge each other through the split and seem to care about what the other is going through somehow made me feel so much better. It's like even though we all deal with issues and it looks like we're alone, someone somewhere sees us and cares.

Having depression and being burned out at the same time is a wild ride I can’t recommend.

Can’t tell if I’m depressed or if I’ve been burned out for years... doesn’t help that school work and socializing both cause me stress.

Thank you for teaching me that "depersonalization" was a characteristic of burnout. I had no way of describing or explaining the reason why I've felt so numb these past few weeks. Even when I tried to do things that make me happy, it felt like I was watching it in the 3rd person, like I was outside of my body and not really experiencing it for myself.

for me, burnout led to depression (diagnosed by psychologists). i personally don’t agree in saying burnout is easier to treat as 3.5 years after my burnout i’m still definitely struggling… the thing with burnout is that many who get burnt out never get back the capabilities they had before. having both of these at the same time also presents a challenge since i need to activate myself to not sink deeper into depression, but to not worsen my burnout i can’t get too active as i need lots of rest. it’s as if working against one of the issues enables the other one…

"burnout or depression, which one are you?"
is it too much to ask for both?

Looks like I have achieved the pinnacle of burnout - habitual burnout. I get exhausted quite easily and check off all symptoms for onset of stress, chronic stress, burnout, and finally habitual burnout where all the symptoms have become a regular part of my life. It started in university and though I've graduated almost 2 years ago, I haven't recovered from it and I'm so easily tired of everything. Sometimes I get these bursts of energy and I am present and enjoying life, but other times I wish I didn't exist, or like I could run away to the middle of nowhere and live on a farm alone...
