I was in a wheelchair in high school. Now, I can do 5, 000 steps a day. I am so in love with the beauty and reflection that walking allows me to encounter.

He who loves to walk will always go further than he who loves the destination

From scientists to martial artists, I've never heard any healthy/wise/happy person who didn't appreciate walking. Especially if you've ever been unable to walk for any time - that's when you REALLY start appreciating it.

Spot on brother. I quit drinking last year in May. I walked for 6 months afterward. I cleaned up my entire life.

When I became a delivery driver. I did 20, 000 steps everyday. And overtime It helped cure most of my depression. My previous job was being stuck in a small office. Overtime that was deteriorating me mentally. So I'm glad I got out of that abusive relationship 😂

I don't have depression, nor do i need to get in better shape. But recently I developed feelings for a girl and found myself in deep thoughts that kind of wore me down. That was the first time I decided to go for a walk just to relieve my mind from something and I must say I felt much better than I thought I would after an hour of walk and I decided to go for a walk every week. Now It's been more than a month, I talked to her about 3 weeks ago and she told me she has no such feelings about me and rather prefers to stay as friends. I can not complain about the answer i recieved but the thoughts in my mind keep taking their toll on me and so far, the best thing that can do to make myself feel better is to go for a walk in the evening, not be concerned about what to do today (cause it is pretty much over) and be grateful to what i already have. Sometimes the small things we are missing seem way bigger than what we already have.

My Dad started walking every day after getting a pace maker. He had also quit smoking after smoking most of his life. He really loved his walks. He made friends in every neighborhood and never took up smoking again.

Personal story: For years I worked at a desk job and it completely ruined my health! One day I decided to change it and started walking for 2 km everyday! It not only improved my health, but also my work! Keep walking:)

I started walking about an hour daily five years ago for my lower back issues.

I was 28, living at my parents, struggling and depressed, with no clear ambitions.

Since then, I have completely transformed my path in life. I feel much happier in my life now. I agree that it’s the contemplative nature of walking that helped me change. It took a lot of processing and planning to find my way forward. Walking is a great support for that process.

I absolutely LOVE walking. I did get to a point (when i started the Job i have now) where i began Bussing it Home every day. Two Weeks ago i noticed i was putting on a bit of belly fat, so now i walk to and from Work. 3 miles each way. I realised i missed it so much, and it's warmed my heart to be doing this again. I regularly walk in my local Woods. I'm so lucky to have two Beautiful Woods five mins from my front Door. I camp now and then overnight there, and just find such peace inside myself with this simplicity. I don't believe in organised Religion. I find Nature is all i need. 🙂👍🤝

I love this subject so much because it’s such a simple thing that actually works.
For most of human history we’ve walked most places. It gives us time to think and process the stimulus and emotion we have that have queued up. Since our mind is so engaged all the time nowadays, we build up this queue of feelings and things that have happened where we have given ourselves little time to process them

I find when I let myself be bored (even though it’s painful) is where I have the most clarity.
Thanks for making this video!

We should be more thankful for being able to walk. One of those simple but beautiful things in life. There are people that are in pain 24/7 when walking and it's tough when you can't do things anymore that were simply precious.

I've been up and down on my fitness journey, I've done well, and poorly, and always come back to feeling incredibly disappointed in myself. I've seen your videos here and there, but recently decided I needed a more calm and steady approach to my health journey, and I cannot think of a more wholesome or positive fitness channel out there. Thank you for having such a good impact on the world, you have definitely made the world a better place.

Dr. K also mentioned a similar concept before. He talked about how pacing (walking) can help us process accumulated emotions and thoughts

_Solvitur Ambulando_ is a Latin phrase which means "it is solved by walking". The phrase means that sometimes the best way to find a solution is sometimes to take a walk and think about it.

Walking is precious, it's a time to just breathe and be present in the moment, to feel your body, and thinking, or not, just letting your mind wander. I love walking, it's a remedy for the body and the soul.

Thank you for this video, it came at a great time. I have been through 18 years of intense caregiving, working, launching kids into adulthood. My husband was laid off nearly a year ago and I am still working. I just came through a major project and am utterly exhausted and ready to just walk away from everything, except I know I really don't want to do that, I just need a break. This is an important reminder to make times for my walks, not just for the physical benefits, but also to check in with myself in a non-distracted setting.
