My absolute favorite way to strength train. I do 3 exercises (a push, pull, lower body) in a circuit with a 30 minute time cap in an A/B split giving 1 to 2 days in between workouts. Workout A may be vertical push and pull, squat and workout B may be horizontal push and pull and a hinge. Escalating density is simple and efficient.

The escalating density workout is brutal!! Felt like I was in a strongman competition. Got so winded had to catch my breath between sets . Now I don't have to do cardio anymore . Day one/ dips and squats, Day two/ pull ups and deadlifts, Day 3 rest ...I felt every muscle in my body worked . Did 9 sets of deadlifts and pull up . Do this workout for a couple years and become a monster.

Minimalist approach is no joke. I only do 2-4 compounds a workout 5x5. No joke. Builds a serious base and is great way to maintain your gains if you are busy in life. Squats take the most time for me and if I’m short for time widow makers are 👌.

3 months update to this routine.
I started this routine right after going home after a couple years. When I was home everyone was complimenting me on my size. Was doing a more classic bodybuilding routine. Lots of volume, lots of isolation exercises etc.
Started this routine, my lower body weights sky rocketed. Upper body palteued and even went down.
Ended up visiting home again last week. People were mentioning how I don't look as big as the previous time. I also don't feel as big.

Overall I liked this routine, workouts felt more satisfying, but I'm going to start incorporating upper body isolation exercises again.

I been telling friends and gym goers 5x5 is one of the best way to train when lifting and push your body but hardly or anyone at all listened thinking that the conventional ways are better for a pump but they get no gains just a pump. This way of training is brilliant and I will adapt this into my routine cheers 👍

Tried this yesterday. Did Dips and Deadlift for 20 minutes
First time I done dips in years as I've suffered with elbow injuries but they held out really well.
Hell of a workout and I was shattered. The sweat was like a cardio session. Towards my last set of dips I was struggling to get 2 reps. I was lifting 80kg and I weigh 77kg
Next time I will up the deadlift weight to 90kg as I was able to get 5 reps every set even tho it was a struggle for the last 2 reps of each set. Thanks Elliot for this workout I will be doing this for the next 4 weeks ready to get jacked for my holiday in the sun 💪
