The dairy dilemma!

One of the nicest things about the keto diets is that you can enjoy rich and creamy foods that are usually off-limits on other diet plans because of their high fat content. (Butter, cheese, heavy cream) -- we celebrate these healthy high-fat foods on keto, but... does that mean you can have unlimited amounts of fat and still get results? Watch this video to find out more!

I won’t do keto without cream and full fat cheese. It’s what makes the diet work for me in terms of satisfaction. I’d rather lose weight slowly and be happy all day every day. I’m healthy eating this way.

I’m only eating keto in order to keep myself from becoming type 2 diabetic. I eat dairy with reckless abandon!

Dairy works perfectly for me. Cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, cream and butter are staples for me.

If a diet is too restrictive, people won't stick to it. Removing all appreciable carbs is quite difficult but manageable. It is made infinitely more doable by increasing your intake of high fat satiating foods - such as cheese. If you try and remove dairy to, I think the diet becomes too hard to unless you have specific reasons not to eat dairy.

dairy helped to adapt my palate away from sugary carbs towards protein-heavy meals... it's also very affordable and requires no cooking... i dont know how many times I was saved from relapsing with carbs by just cutting a thick slice of cheddar cheese that would fill me up pretty well ... I don't eat it as much now because I like keeping my pantry simple, but I'm not scared of it either

As a self-sufficient farmer, I wanted to try nut milks, but for the life of me, I couldn’t find the teats.

Cream in coffee keeps me satiated all day. It allows me to eat 5pm every day. I cut cheese though.

About two years ago I started KETO when I realized it was with no grains as I’m allergic to gluten & dairy. If I use just a little butter I’m fine so I fry foods in bacon grease. Down to 139 lbs. Feel much better.

Fermented dairy has much less carbs. I make milk kefir with Half n Half. It can be made into milk kefir cheese too. Giving up dairy ... cream, HnH, sour cream, cream cheese, cheese, butter, ghee, etc., would make KetoVore undoable for me.

I just eliminated dairy for 2 weeks and after day 3 I felt a significant decrease in joint pain. I also saw the scale move. On Saturday, I reintroduced dairy and scale went up 2.5 lbs and had sweet cravings.

I grew up on a Vermont dairy farm with raw organic milk straight from the barn until i left home. I still get raw milk, yogurt and cream from a local farm in NH now. And lactose intolerant friends have no issues with the raw dairy. Plus delicious

I was using whole milk, One cup =12 grams carb. Then I found "Fairlife" whole milk, lactose free, double filtered, one cup =6 grams of carb...I keep the milk for coffee, One cup of milk a day. I think this is ok for now. I am only 4 months into Keto, have lost 25 pounds now, got my A1C down to 6.5, taking it a little slow, but looking at trying to drink the coffee black...

I don't crave nuts however but cheese is something I can over indulge on but it is much better than indulging on sugars and the wrong carbs/carb snacks etc.

Bullet proof coffee is what they call it and you're right, a person should count one large cup as a meal.

Cream cheese is something I can barely do without: cream cheese and egg pancakes are great! I’ve gotten tired of using coconut oil for frying, so now it’s ghee instead. I’m almost entirely Eastern European in ancestry, so any residual lactose isn’t a problem.

When I eat cream, Brie and butter I can’t stop lol. Especially whipped cream with raspberries. I’ve noticed when I don’t calorie count and don’t restrict those foods a bit my weight loss stalls.

I equate dairy into the fat category, as most the dairy I buy is full fat. Therefore I eat it in moderation. I don't add extra oils or butters just for the sake of adding fat. I add dairy just for flavor. I'll use a little butter to cook my eggs, add a couple Tbsp of cream in my coffee or sprinkle a light amount of cheese over my dish. Sometimes a small dollop of sour cream here and there. This is what I love about Keto. Never could I do this on a low calorie diet and still lose weight.
