ENT Manifestations of Migraine 19: Vestibular Migraine Response to CGRP Meds

This young woman has a lifelong history of daily headache that was occasionally associated with dizziness. Ten months of increased intensity and frequency of dizziness brought her to the ENT office where she was given a diagnosis of vestibular migraine. She failed diet, all classes of preventive medication and Botox. These trials took almost a year. After all these drugs failed her she had a dramatic and sustained response to a CGRP monoclonal antibody to the CGRP molecule.

This is me. Daily migraines have gotten me depressed. I've tried it all and now I'm at Botox. I had terrible inj site reactions to CGRP shots. Hoping for a miracle!

I wish you could be my doctor. I've had vestibular migraine for 8 years, have tried a lot of the medications but have been super sensitive to most of them, and am now bed bound because the room spinning vertigo is so bad.

I've had daily ICM (transformed) and tinnitus since 2004. I've never heard of a single patient that reported Topiramate was a success for Migraine. 3 to 4 migraines a months is still completely disabling in reality.

Hello Doctor. My neurologist told me cgrp shots would not work for vestibular migraines but in this patient’s case they did a miracle. I still suffer from vestibular migraine dizziness and i wonder if it would make sense to visit another neurologist and discuss cgrp meds options. I am so hopeless so i hope you respond to this.
