ENT Manifestations of Migraine 30: Neck, ear, head, TMJ and sinus complaints

This patient suffered 5 different migraine manifestations with independent treatments for each for 20 years before a migraine diagnosis was considered. Her response in the first 6 weeks of treatment are impressive. This highlights the wide range of symptoms that can be created by hyperactivity in the trigemino-cervical complex which is the fusion of the nuclei of the upper cervical nerve nuclei and the trigeminal nucleus.

This is me! I've had issues with TMJ, neck and shoulder pain, PND, sinus pain for many years. Dizziness began only recently and has got progressively worse, along with intensity of pain in my neck and an increase in a runny nose, particularly my right nostril. I have recently been diagnosed with VM. I now wonder if I have had VM for many years. Incidently, my father suffered from Menieres Disease. There was never any mention of migraine being associated with it.

Same issue. My allergist kept saying it was bad allergies. My pulmonologist finally said “I think you’re having migraines.” Thank goodness he did, otherwise I would still be suffering.

This sound exactly like me. I have had every symptom as this lady for about 20 years. How do you select the migraine medication in these patients? I'm from Pittsburgh. Been to several ENT's, several TMJD Dentists, has sinus balloon surgery, on allergy shots and meds, several neurologists and they all keep saying my brain and ears are fine and blame my allergies or tmjd for my symptoms. In addition, I see flashes in my vision and feel eye pressure and the eye doctor recently was the first one ever to mention it could be migraines.

I've watched some of your videos after seeing you on the migraine world summit. I was put on Topamax when it first came on the market in 2005..yes I agree that it works great but the side effects caused SERIOUS other issues for me..so not a good trade off..side effects should be mentioned because they caused me to have extensive periodontal surgery to save my teeth..not to mention the nickname of this drug..stupid max. Or dope a max..I once had a lapse in judgment and begged to go back on it...been suffering since with new and added horrific diseases...keep in mind that pharmaceuticals can be poison
