They try to make you jealous because it tells them you still care and tells you that you still want them. It gives them control when you desire to possess them, when you fear losing them, when you fear that someone else might want them and take them away from you because you're still deeply involved. You are still under their spell, which is precisely what they want, and that's why they put you in these situations to make you jealous.

Narcissists feel very insecure inside of themselves and it makes them feel inferior to others. The narcissist likes to see you jealous because it signals to them you are feeling insecure and not quite good enough about yourself and this makes them feel more secure. Narcissists thrive on a person's negative or positive reaction to them don't give them what they want.

The narc I use to work for, behaves the same, as those in relationships. He recently came to see me. He went on and on, about how great his life is, and what a loser I am. But after watching so many of these videos, I'm looking at the situation, objectively. I know I'm talking to someone, who is more like a robot, than a person, to be honest. Because nothing I can say, can be of any importance, or significance. I may as well be talking to a robot.

The one I knew wasn't a romantic partner, but someone who had much more money than I did. I knew she wanted me to be feeling "one down". I never felt that way, because money doesn't represent personal worth to me. She would offer me "hand me downs", things that were really ready for the trash. I always bought good quality, new items, and when she saw them, I could tell it got under her skin! 😂 One day out of the blue, she asked me what the APR on my credit card was! It was rock bottom low for the time, which also got under her skin big time! What an eye opener! I started to distance myself, and finally shook her off.

Mine would try to make me jealous, but after so any years, I didn't care anymore. That's when he upped the stakes in the game and became cruel and violent, if I didn't react the way he wanted.
I oh so wanted to lose him! But he flattened my tires and took my phone, so I couldn't be the one to leave.

My ex narc friend was obsessed to get a reaction out of me, she tried bread crumbling, triangulating, bragging how she has all these people lined up for her, wouldn't miss a single reply to strangers while leaving me waste time waiting only to get few words from her. Then when I wanted to move on because we hardly talk and are like strangers, she would tell people that I am jealous of her having better life now and I don't.
Whatever her intentions were, I wont enable such toxic behavior towards me. I chose me and went no contact. The only thing I regret was that I didn't do it 4 years earlier while things were still nice...
I hope her new supply and ill minded family will hold her close so she wont bother me anymore
