Do your hips feel tight? Do you want to learn how to improve the mobility of your hips? The hip is one of the most active and mobile joints of the human body. Whether you perform activities such as walking, ambulating stairs, deadlifts, or playing sports, having adequate hip mobility is important to all! Hip mobility limitations have been associated with issues both upstream (at the low back) and downstream (at the knee). This video will educate you on how to perform exercises for your tight hips!

Many have asked if the hips are the base to the lower body OR if the hips are a base for the pelvis and spine to sit on top of. The answer is actually Both! The hips play a dominant role in movements across the entire body which is why pathology to the hips can lead to much larger problems than locally at the hip. In order to sustain a highly active life, it is critical to master exercises for your tight hips. The exercises here will provide you tools to improve hip mobility today!

Thanks for the video. I stopped my stretching routine about a year ago because it seemed to be making the issues I was having with my lower back worse. Since then I noticed a great loss of mobility and pain within my range of motion of my hip joint. Within a week of doing this routine a few times a week I've had noticeable improvement. They are a bit challenging though haha.

Great video, thanks! One question: The drill is easier for me to do when I use the stick on the other side (less balance needed). I mean on the opposite side of the leg on the floor. Was this a mistake in the video or should the stick be used on the same side of the leg on the floor?

Hey guys, great videos as always! I really appreciate your knowledge and thorough explanations. Quick question for you, for the end-range activation I can not lift my leg and keep it off the ground. I assume this speaks to my weakness here. Is that a correct assumption?

Can't do abduction or adduction in both hips. Almost got a double dysplasia while trying to sit cross-legged during a judo stretching session after class. Can't even cross legs or even feet, but I can somewhat rotate my legs in a static position.

It looks great but what about me at 65? I already know how important exercise is. I needed help with balance and my neck because I have limited movement because of a plate in my c5c6c7 area. I do want to move better and stretching is great. When we get older you have to move more and work harder than i did at a younger age. Do you have any suggestions for us older people? thank you
