I tend to avoid sharpening colored pencils because I feel like I'm sharpening away money. I'm cheap lol

This was helpful, I finished my first color pencil portrait the other day .. After watching this video, I see 2 of the mistakes I made and why I am not happy with the final result So I will be starting this drawing over, and using some of your tips to help make it more like the photo I was looking at .... Thanks for the tips

A little tip for the last one. When you drew the sketch or outline for a picture, just leave it and go back to it the next day. It helped me a lot in noticeing quite some mistakes and errors I made and hence got a better result when I finished the drawing. :)

There is such a thing as over working a picture, knowing when to quit is just as important as knowing that you're quitting too soon.

I never even thought about preserving the "tooth"! I was just burnishing then wondering why I couldn't get anymore colour on the paper...

The jazz hands really make me want to go for that subscribe button. But since I'm already subscribed I'm left with this feeling of unfulfilled compulsion.

btw, Great video. Any one of these points can save a person days of frustration.

This is the first video I have watched from Lachri and I'm hooked! She is SO supportive of an artist who may not be like everyone else or who has their own style while still offering professional tips. Super personality, too!

You educated me, while entertaining me at the same time. Your 7 common mistakes artists make with colored pencils sounded so real. I am sure I have tried one or two of those myself. I have subscribed to your channel. You sound like a great teacher who I could learn from. I will check out your other videos and see what I see. Beautiful work.

Such excellent advice! Twenty layers? Wow, that surprised me, but no one can argue with your results! Thank you.
