Using the white colored pencil is a great alternative, and it also works better in my experience!

note: this works best with WAX BASED pencils. oil based need a proper solvent to blend this way.

I accidentally figured this out using colored pencils and then using pastel alcohol markers- one of my fave combos

I would suggest layering or putting a lot of pressure when coloring as alternatives.

Try using a q-Tip dipped in oil and use like you did with the alcohol marker so it will kinda have the same affect as this but use thick paper!


P.S!!!!

It only works for some type of pencils I’m not sure 🤔

Olive oil on a q-tip works too. Just use the oil in moderation!

I can tell you that works as when I was a beginner artist I used to use the colour less blender that comes in the magic colour changing set and I can tell you I thought I was a 😅 magician
