Group counseling is the best...it offers catharsis and accountability.

The video was very helpful. It felt authentic and accurate, and was a length I could grasp. I encourage you to consider careful attention to sound quality in future efforts; the balance could be improved, as well as levels.

My husband said he is trying. I asked how? He said by staying busy! Really??? That doesn't work when their is down time. It is TRUE that a person needs to stay busy especially in the 1st 3-6 months, but then what? Their has to be a determined plan in place. #1 is prayer to God in heaven, our POWERFUL God can do the good work in us IF we ask and let Him work in us. But, we have to ask Him to do it! My husband has had a history of 40 years with me and lied his way throughout everything, so now that is a hard habit to break. 😢

What about relapse? What about quitting the behaviors that come with it? I’m struggling.

My husband has very little to no empathy. He's been in rehab for 8 months! He's struggling with objectifying and fantasizing as well. I just can't accept this and communication is so hard with him.

The nail in the coffin for me is this group help accountability partner crap!!! Like are you freaking serious? Among all addictions sex addicts have the WORST luck relying on and having bonds with people. I've asked addicts, relatives, ect. No one wants to commit to being an accountability partner- useless! People find our addiction creepy, taboo, and they just dont want to deal with it- OR they are addicts too LOL. Like come on- there has to be a way to do this by ourself. From experience EVEN i find professional talk therapy useless! The best type of recovery ive found so far is CRM therapy- meditative sessions releasing trauma from the body.

Would people in the autism community, who struggle with attachments be at higher risk?

I can completely understand the benefits of group therapy and having an accountability partner - but do you think the set up of a sober house for sex addicts is at all beneficial? I'd think it'd be an easier step to not be surrounded by horny people sleeping in the same house together...but I'm also out of my element with this subject
