3 Quotes to Live By:
1) "Don't compare yourself to someone else, compare yourself to your yesterday's self."
2) “You can't go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending”
3) "Once you decide your lifes purpose, you will only have to pack one thing: "Your Heart."

I like to think of these in a different order

1. Wisdom - know what is right for you.
2. Courage - do what is right
3. Justice - treat others fairly in pursuit of what is right for you
4. Temperance - know when it’s time to stop

"It's not what happens, it's how you respond to what happens."

Those are some good words.

Stoicism sounds like the practice of becoming the best version of yourself, for your sake and the sake of others. I’m still learning.

"It's not what happens, but how you respond to what happens"; absolute wisdom.
I wish more understood this concept.
The world would be such a better place.

I used to be mean, lazy and apathetic. Not meaning to come off stereotypically; stoicism changed my life. I was at rock bottom. I knew suicide wasnt the way, it would just cause more pain to people i care about.

Everything just all made sense. The stories and quotes are almost like a puzzle you have to put together to be a well rounded person. Im still working on it, but throw yourself into uncomfortable situations, TRY, doesnt matter at what, just try, practice grounding yourself when you feel emotions that are going to impact you and others negatively. You are above that. Keep going, dont let your wheels sink into the mud.

You can do it!

Ryan you were my introduction to stoicism, and it has helped me tremendously with dealing with mental illness (depression and anxiety) and with being productive. Thank you. 💙

We don’t control what happens to us, we control how we respond to what happens to us in life.

Like Christianity in Essence: it’s not about the rituals and knowing the word- it’s living it. Practicing it. Applying it. “Waste no more time talking about it, be it”. Stoicism is faith in practice not in belief. Actions not just faith. Thank you 🙏🏽 this video is prolly one of the most impactful. Like the late great Zig Ziglar said knowledge should be taught in a way a 3rd grader can comprehend. Short and sweet. No big 5 syllable words and Harvard dictionary terms. This was the underline example of what he believed and you still dropped names in the beginning for us to do our own research. Well done #daily stoic

Thank you for all you do, Ryan. Thank you for writing the obstacle is the way, something I need to remind myself every single day.

"Concentrate on what you have to do. Fix your eyes on it. Remind yourself that your task is to be a good human being; remind yourself what nature demands of people. Then do it, without hesitation, and speak the truth as you see it. But with kindness. With humility. Without hypocrisy"
Marcus Aurelius

I love your work Ryan and have several of your books. I read to my wife every day over a morning coffee from your book, 'The Daily Stoic' and we discuss our thoughts. We're on our second year of that and have both found it really useful. So, thank you and keep up the great work! - Perth, Australia
