DO THIS Every Day To Reduce The Risk Of Heart Disease DRAMATICALLY | Dr. Mark Hyman

For years well-meaning doctors, echoed by the media, have emphasized what they have long believed is the intimate link between cholesterol and death by heart disease. If only it were so simple! You may hope that if you monitor your cholesterol levels and avoid the foods that are purported to raise cholesterol, you’ll be safe from America’s number-one killer. The truth is much more complex. Cholesterol is only one factor among many—and it’s not even the most important one—that contribute to your risk of getting heart disease.

In today’s episode of my series I’m calling Health Bites, I talk about why standard cholesterol testing is outdated and why cholesterol may not be the cause of heart disease.

This episode is brought to you by Thrive Market and Athletic Greens.

I am so happy my Naturopath actually tested my blood for all the specific things Dr. Hyman mentioned. If your doctor doesn't want to do a more extensive blood test, do yourself a favor and find another doctor. It's not just about your high cholesterol numbers. Thanks Dr. Hyman for your great advice and sharing your opinion on statins. Doctors are giving it out like candy!

I did not understand when he said “if you’re lean then saturated fat may not be good for you” what does it mean?

Good morning doctor…does the size of the LDL particles stay consistent through life or does it change at times, and if so, why? Thank you!

Latent infections and gut microbiome. Those sound extremely difficult to assess compared to the other markers you mentioned like CRP, pre-diabetes (HbA1C), homocysteine. If I can get a test on demand from LabCorp or quest (nmr, cardiac IQ) much more likely to do it since my GP doesn't go as far as you. But ultimately, not sure what would change in terms of treatment for prevention with all the extra testing.

Is fish or krill oil already oxidized in the bottle before you even ingest them due to their exposure to light?

I started taking 4 need liver pills a day and was taking omega 3 prior. I stopped taking omega 3 but was curious if I can take both beef lice supplement and omega 3. I haven't found anything credible online. My main concern is not having too much vitamin A

According to Dr. Tom Dayspring, the most important cholesterol test is ones ApoB, a measure of all atherogenic lipoproteins particles. Why no mention of it?

I saw the movie Window Maker 2015. It's a piece of very good information on calcium score but it does not tell you how to reverse it or even if is it reversible or not? My calcium score is 60 and LAD (30-60%) stenosis as my recent report says. Now what? Any suggestion will help. Thank You.
