I will do this. Anxiety impacted my life for too long. So many friendships and relationships lost. Not anymore. My free trial of anxiety ends this year!

One time in class my teacher asked all the students to read, I was the only one that could never read because of my anxiety. Everyone in the class knew but it was never spoken out loud. They were all a year younger than me as well so I felt worse about it.
But one time we had a new teacher that didn't know I had a hard time speaking and was asked to read a small paragraph (that's literally all it was) whilst everyone else had to read a bunch of different roles - some had more than one role because of my incompetence. When it was my turn to speak I could only make a croaking noise and couldn't speak at all. The teacher instantly knew and looked at me with sympathy and asked me if I wanted her to read it instead. These kinds of situations haunted me and still do. I sometimes can't even sit next to my friends without shaking or isolating myself.

I'm trying to get better :)

I've always had a lot of anxiety when it comes to texting and I tend to ignore texts for months at a time, but I've recently started to just do it without even allowing myself to think, and it's crazy how helpful it is!! It's helped me start to text my friends on a daily basis for the first time in years

I don't usually comment on social apps. so here I go! I would like to say I have been truly enjoying watching these videos so far. this morning I was feeling sick, had no appetite whatsoever and after singing some music, dancing and especially filling out the anxiety form you posted, I am feeling much better. The biggest change since the morning is that I had a depressing attitude towards all this but now it's turned into motivation for change! LET'S GOOO!!!

Thank you, I wish I found these years ago. I thought I beat my anxiety years ago but after a sudden death of a friend all of mine came flooding back.

12:05 those things are exactly my thoughts and horrify me ahahah I always wear black things. Answering a question in class makes me blush, regardless of how much I like the people in it. The last time it happened I was just like "OK she saw me blushing. She now knows I am not as cool as I think I am." Then I went to the bathroom, stretched myself and took some deep breaths. Then I came back and the anxiety was gone :) Self-focus ruins everything ...

Thank you so much for this series Magnus! I am experiencing severe anxiety for almost 10 years now. I will move to another country in 2 days and I stumbled upon your series while searching how can I handle anxiety. Because I don't wanna live like this anymore. I hope I will be able live with my anxiety without it affecting my daily life for the worst.

The thing is I'm afraid to take a risk because if it goes bad my situation might get even worse. I had a public speaking class and even though I passed it with an A I still feel anxious when I remember about it. Nothing wrong happened but the whole semester was stressful and I wish but I really can't tell that it was a great experience and next time I will be more confident...

Wow, almost all of these tasks sounds very difficult to me, but I'm so excited to try them. Today, I went to the supermarket and paid with just coins. I was counting them very slowly and was afraid that someone will shout at me or I will drop them, but everything was okay. Tomorrow I will try something more difficult

I had a teacher who asked me to read in class. He was aware of my condition, although didn't know exactly what it was.
When I went in front of the classroom didn't ask me to read right away, he talked a bit about introversion and extroversion and then asked me to read. That helped me feel at ease.
I think exposure therapy is like releasing fish into ponds, you don't dump the container of fish into the water, but rather gradually mix the pond water into the container to adjust the temperature, so that the fish doesn't get shocked and die.
