You lost your Gym Shark audience with "yes, you still have to work hard." Poor move, mate.

I used to supplement with creatine until I discovered I had a pre-existing kidney disease. The renal specialist I saw told me that creatine supplementation can interfere with blood tests for this kidney disease, and advised that I stop.

I think this is worth noting, as I would not have realised this on my own. Definitely something to be aware of if you're considering creatine supplementation

In the end, creatine gives you the ability to put in a liiiittle bit more work, but you still have to do that! Both by giving you a bit more ATP and a small amount of increased muscle circumference that _can_ lead to higher weights

I like when James pretends like the science is difficult for him to understand.

I am a year late but I appreciate the work you put into these vids. Backed by studies and science, it is good to know what I am putting into my body. Thank you sir!

These are my favorite types of videos from you. Breath of fresh air from the circus of fitness influencers. Thanks for the video James. I'm considering Creatine for the first time now. May read a bit more first though.

I have a love / hate relationship with Creatine. It noticeably improved my work capacity (and my energy level, in general). But it came with a nasty side effect: painful muscle cramps and chronic dehydration. I dehydrate easily to begin with. So when I was using Creatine, I had to carry a water bottle with me 24/7. And I was getting charlie horses (calf muscle cramps) all the time. So I decided to stop using it. Now my workouts are more of a struggle. 😒

I believe side effects such as gastrointestinal discomfort are more likely and more severe with higher dosages, which might be worth including in the consideration of whether you should do a loading phase or not.

Request for a vid on hip mobility and lower back strengthening. Mark Wildman recommended a bunch of exercises (and the Bioneer too) any insight into them. He seems legit but a second opinion from another bald youtuber will save me paying for professional advice. Cheers!

I can't tell you how much I appreciate your unbiased academic opinion.

I think another important point to mention is that as an individual you may not even notice any physiological benefits, but at a cellular level they will be still happening. I took it daily with a loading phase for about 6 months and didn't even notice whether or not I was getting an extra rep in. That being said, don't expect crazy strength and/or endurance gains, chances are you may not even notice them!

I started using creatine 2 weeks ago. I’ve been lifting for months now, I’ve done a health and fitness certificate. I’m not a dick head. I can tell you now, I’ve put at least 2 reps on each of my exercises. I’m a very motivated person so I wouldn’t put it to the idea of a placebo.

(I’ve always done conditioning training. With weight, but I need to put on some weight, as I am joining the army. there’s not too many disadvantages to having some weight on you if you’re fit.)

I once explained creatine in simplistic way: The more muscle you have, the better it works.
