Help me make more cheesy content:

Creatine, one of the most researched fitness dietary supplements ever, is yet again making its mark as one of the most consistently useful supplements ever as well. We know about creatine's impact on performance, but what about aesthetics? Is it possible that taking creatine can actually help us with... our bodyfat? In this new study, we explore the effects creatine has on bodyfat percentage. Will we yet again chalk up another win for creatine? Let's find out!

I've noticed it helps my memory. This stuff is turning into a wonder supplement.

When you take creatine your body holds on to more water, meaning your body fat percentage by mass would be lower. I wonder if this was taken into account.

Can't this difference be explained by the increased water retention of muscles when taking creatine ?

Couldnt it also be water weight? Or is that factored out?

Creatine helps you push that 1 extra rep, thus more muscle mass, thus harder workouts, thus more calories burned, thus more fat burned if you're in a deficit and are remembering your protein.

Okay but why is there no study on the correlation between creatine and hair loss despite tonnes of anecdotes online? Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence, seems like it would be very beneficial to fund this type of study yet I can't find anything

this might be my time to start taking it

Guys just be careful with creatine and the "balding" side effect you "might" have, yes, not many experience it but do your research before start taking it because I have started losing hair becuase of it and now I have to do the opposite DHT treatment with finestride...

Couldn't the decrease in fat % (and not fat mass) mean that it's just because water % went up instead of muscle mass maybe?

Hmmm, Idk if this study even reveals anything at all. Creatine increases hydration levels, right? Did they control for that? Could the increase in "muscle mass" (or rather fat free mass) simply be due to higher hydration levels?

This is not new information and you have even mentioned the gaining of fat free mass in other videos. You gain water weight en muscle weight, so ofcourse your bodyfat% will be lower compared

Isn't that just because creatine is pulling water into muscles?

I mean, If creatine helps to build muscles faster and muscles tent to use and burn more calories doesnt that then indirectly translate into faster fat loss?

What I've learnt today: If I workout and eat enough and maybe take creatine I will probably get bigger.

It could also be that the increased mass comes from water. Creatine, as far as I understand, does bind a lot of water in the muscles. So after a few weeks of taking it daily, you'll get a more or less permanent pump. People starting out with creatine, are usually also warned that their weight will go up, but that it's water being retained in the body. Were these things addressed in the study?

Creatine does not lead to hypertrophy of the actual contractile tissues (myofibrils). It's an osmolyte, so it increases the water content (sarcoplasm) in the muscle fibers. It's why subjects in creatine studies are not stronger those the in control, although their muscles appear larger.
