I used to be a "non responder" to creatine. But once I found out about how some individuals have a "leaky brain" and that it could lead to increased anxiety (which I have), and that creatine in higher doses could help with this, I bumped up the dose to 10 g. And what do you know? My anxiety improved a lot and all of a sudden I'm stronger in the gym. I just needed more because my brain ate up most of it I guess.

I was skeptical on it, but decided to try. 5g per day. No difference 2 weeks in, but on week 3 I suddenly benched my 5RM for 8, a longtime plateau, so there's that.

After starting creatine, I've noticed that I'm a lot stronger than I used to be, and I definitely gained a bit of muscle. I've always mixed it in my coffee when I remember to, and I never had any issue lol. Still stronger and faster than last time.

In defence of preloading:

I did a partial preload, meaning I took about 7-10g a day for 7 days.

Part of the reason for this was because I wanted to see if it made a difference for me or if I was a “non-responder”.

Because I started using it fairly early on however, I was making the newbie gains. So if I didn’t preload, I would struggle to tel whether the gains are creatine or just newbie gains.

For me having preloadedish, I was able to perceive a significant improvement in squats AMRAP between two training sessions and that confirmed for me that creatine is a good idea.

When I did the loading phase, I got severe cramps around day 4. I also had some drinks on day 3. Had to take a few days off the gym to recover. Was nervous some bad shit was happening. In the end, I’m happy I take it though, I have noticed a bigger look.

Been taking creatine for 2 months now, and it's been working wonders. I use Transparent Labs creatine/hmb, for anyone curious. It's great. But I think the biggest effect for me - which a lot of people don't talk about - is creatines effects on the brain. I feel WAAYYY more productive, and it's not just the workouts doing it. I feel like I can pick up lessons better, and retain the knowledge. Sleep has also been great on creatine. Only thing is, you WILL pee A LOT cause you will be drink a metric f**k tonne of water.

8:18 Even if Creatine or Beta Alanine were included in the Pre-Workout, people take pre-workout on gym days, but creatine & Alanine need to be taken everyday. You still must buy them separately.

As a 42 yo man who was in reaonable shape but no huge lifting, I felt a clear increase in strengh and recuperation after daily BJJ classes. People told me I felt stronger.

The one I get is from Walmart. Creatine monohydrate $29 for roughly 90 servings 5 grams a scoop. Started using it at the beginning of September and it has helped out a lot.
