Welcome to the official Roll with Cole & Charisma YouTube channel! Since the start of our relationship we've gotten a lot of questions about our experiences as not only an interracial couple, but an interabled one as well. On this channel you can catch us doing travel and adventure vlogs, challenges, our inclusion series, couple first times, music, and so much more! We started this vlog to bring people into our lives, to answer some questions about how we navigate the world, and hopefully raise awareness surrounding accessibility and dating in a wheelchair. My aunt did foster care for 30+ years. She specialized in hard to place children/multiples. She had moms w babies, siblings of 2-6 at a time, special needs. Her and my uncle ended up adopting, I believe, 8 children. 5 were siblings, 1 had a baby. Plus she had 5 of her own children, 1 special needs.
My parents did foster care too and adopted my sister. I did respite care and adopted my nephew who was put in the system. My cousin did foster care. Her and her husband adopted 7 children, multi-racial.

What a cool thing you are doing. I can't even imagine how unsettling it is for a kid to show up at a stranger's house at 3am then try to get some sleep. Yikes. After whatever they went through to NEED to be taken somewhere at that hour, their poor minds and hearts have to be racing and confused and hurt. I ache for them. No kid should have to endure any of that. Thankfully they have amazing people like you two to make sure their transition is handled with love, understanding, respect, and safety. Hugs to their little hearts.

Any child who requires additional classroom / school support can qualify for an IEP (Individualized Education Plan). IEPs are usually put into place depending on some sort of mental, physical, or emotional diagnosis for a child that could possibly interfere in the education setting. An IEP is a legal document that education institutions have to follow. An IEP is meant to provide support to students to allow them to be successful in their least restrictive educational environment. Not all students with mental, physical, or emotional diagnoses HAVE to have an IEP. An IEP is dependent on student needs and what is best for the student in a school setting.

Types of Care: We need all of you ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Respite Care : Temporary placement ( to give foster parents a break or between replacements)
Foster Care : Care for kid until reunification with parents or other family members
Foster to Adopt : Foster a child, if child becomes legally free...you will be first to be asked to adopt
Kinship Legal Gardin : Family members not parents, Watch over child till adulthood
Legal Gardin : Child is watched over till 18
Apotion : Child is legally free, can be adopted

I'm 7⁷, and I had over 250 foster children. I also was emergency care, and also long term care. I adopted one, who was special needs. I now have a 42 year old woman with Autism and non verbal. She has been with me for 12 years. When I started foster care, I had 2 Bio daughters, and later years had one more, and then we adopted one more daughter, that was placed in our home at 3 and a half months old. Foster care has come a long way. We had no trainings, nor did we have support with the children. As the years have passed, the trainings and support started. As the years past, another foster parent and myself became the ones that did travel and trained foster parents and also caseworkers all over our state. I've had a lot of College courses and it is mandatory that I have 26 hours of training every year, even as a long term foster parent. I'm called a Treatment Parent now. Thank you very much for doing foster care. There is a great need for foster parents that will do older children and teens and also special needs kids, and if you have a handicapped accessible home.
