The real question is why did Dooku wait 10 years to warn the Jedi about Darth Sidious? Tales of the Jedi showed that Dooku was already aware that the Sith were around long before Qui-Gon encountered Darth Maul on Tatooine but he kept his mouth shut. Even worse is that Yaddle knew about Dooku and Sidious but she would rather die than to leave the industrial plant to warn the Jedi.

Yoda trained Obi-wan to be arrogant in the Jedi beliefs. Under Qui-gon, he learned of the living force but didn't put much merit in it. The arrogance mixed with not being mindful of the will of the force, he let Qui-gon down in the battle with Maul. From the moment he was sent down a catwalk level, he was playing catch-up. If he hadn't been so cocky, him and Qui-gon could have handled Maul with ease. Instead he got Qui-gon killed, leading to the loss of the "duel of the fates", sending everything into motion from that point forward. And then after fucking up so royally, continued the tradition by sending Anakin's kids after him on a homicidal terrorist quest on a galactic scale

Some random background Jedi: "hey I sense powerful dark side energy from the Senate building"
Council: don't be so silly we would have sensed it we are so powerful we know we could feel if we were near the dark side.
Jedi: are you sure it feels so powerful but focused like it's surpressed somehow
Council: of course we are sure the dark side can't be surpressed that's why we stop all of you from every path to the dark side like attachment and strong dark emotions. So the dark side can't be surpressed and we don't sense it maybe you are imagining things or picking up a couple senators fighting.

Random Jedi was correct and the council wonders why no one sensed the dark side so close by

He and yoda discussed it in ( labyrinth of evil ) just before episode 3 . He said he thinks he was wrong and dooku was telling the truth. Yoda agreed.

But just after the jedi did investigate the senate, one jedi had a plan to test the blood of all the senators. ( palpatine arraigned his sudden death)

Pride of the Jedi as a whole and the council especially !!! created their blind spot which Sidious fully exploited to bring them to their knees and wipe them out. The sad part is the universe was trying to wake them up to the threat and their collective hubris made them ignorant and therefore blind. Arrogance that's combined with pride will and have ALWAYS !!!! preceeded the/that Big FALL.. The universe decided that the Jedi needed to be humbled after they as a collective whole ignorantly ignored its warnings.

Because Jedi are to arrogant to believe they’ve been played to such a degree that the sith rule them basically. If they took more things seriously none of it would’ve happened.

He was being truthful not to turn obi wan to the dark side but to give him a heads up since dooku was qui gons master

All Obi Wan had to ask was “who is Darth Sidious?”. Dooku knew he was Palpatine right? And if he’s telling Kenobi all of this why not go further.

This scene where Dooku tells that to Obi-Wan and the fact that he asked Sidious to let him bring Obi-Wan to the dark side makes me believe that Dooku wanted to get Obi-Wan as his apprentice and then kill Sidious

Why WOULD he believe him?
Besides, he DID give his words a bit of thought and brought it to the Council.

On a side note, I gotta say I really wish Dooku had been _consistently_ portrayed as this suave, sophisticated, “grey” sort of character who’s definitely doing and condoning bad shit but taking no real pleasure in it.
