Dooku actually went out of his way during the war to hurt as few jedi as possible. Dooku's goal was to erradicate the jedi council. But he did not enjoy killing members of the order and avoided it where possible. While he held a special love for kenobi, dooku's strong convictions kept him from spiraling too far into the dark side and he would not mind sparing others as long as they did not pose a threat.

I love when these youtubers present it as a new discovery

"Dooku's motivation has FINALLY been revealed, after all these years. Our source is a book from 2005"

Dookku is such a layered character, a man trapped in a prison of his own devised

Holy shit I never realized this. So Dooku just became a martyr rather than a villain?

No wonder Palpatine was so desperate to silence him.

Dooku spared Obi-Wan on Oba Dia as well. In their duel he has Obi-Wan dead to rights when he pins his sword arm and has a free shot to Obi's chest. Instead he knees him the gut and throws him.

Dooku in movie: *refuses to kill Obi Wan and just incapacitates him*

Dooku in the novelization: “oh I heard a crack, I hope he broke his neck while falling down the stairs”

If you think about it, dooku in a way ruined palpatines plan by saving Obi wan who later chopped anakin.

I wonder how it'd turn out, had Dooku stayed with the Order, not because of love or anything like that for the Order, but for the fondness he had for Qui-Gon. Deciding to stay and help Obi-Wan train Anakin in the force, seeing it as the last good thing he can do, to honour his old pupil, and fulfill the vision Qui-Gon had for Anakin, being the chosen one. And in a way, rebel against the Jedi by not letting the Order "corrupt" Anakin as they've done so many others

I think on Dooku’s part it was honest accident born form his grandfatherly love for Obi-wan for in novel he was truly comited to kill him after finishing his covernation with his master thinking it was misplace sentimentally. But in the bigger piture the Force took control of Dooku for a brief moment to spare Obi-wan’s life without him realizing it for Dooku honestly thought he broke Obi-wan’s kneck after throwing him

I guess that's why Palpatine was so keen on directing Anakin to kill the Count. The weak link Dooku still possessed in his heart must have disturbed him, so he decided to use him as a test for Anakin to see if he was fit to take the Count's position.

I like to think that the reason why Sidious told Anakin to kill Dooku was not just because Dooku no longer had hands, but also because he directly defied Sidious by not killing Kenobi.

Dooku had true pure grandfattherly love for Obi-Wan.Sidious really seems disappointed and angry Dooku didn't kill Obi-Wan. That's when Palpatine decided Dooku had to die. May the Force be with you too😊

As an alternate history, I have often wondered what would have happened if Obi Wan had listened to more when Dooku revealed to him on Geonosis that the Republic was controlled by a Sith.
How much would Dooku have told him?
Was Dooku trying to play both sides?

The Jedi's biggest mistake was treating Anakin like Trash.
Sidious's biggest mistake was not finally dealing with Obi Wan personally.

Also, I think you meant THE greatest Jedi of the entire order. Obi Wan is what a Jedi should be, and Qui Gon is what the Jedi needed to be.

Because Qui Gon spoke so highly of him.

This is the same topic you’ve covered times before just in a new wrapper

Dooku cares about obiwan (even when he hadnt even met him for a long bit of time), is because obiwan is the only tangible peice of quigon left...its like a grandfather n grandson type thing..they love them because they are a part of the person they cared for the most....obiwan may not have been as independent thinking as quigon but dont get shit twisted, obiwan and quigon are mirror images of eachother at their core...whether obiwan wants to believe it or not a big part of him is also dooku, because quigon passed on what he leared FROM DOOKU to obiwan therefore obiwan has as much dooku within him as quigon did...dooku was old n wise enough to realze this fact n therefore he probably thought of obiwan and a extention of himself in alot of ways, and the only living extention of himself that is still alive.u cannot pass along a "personality" however what u can pass along are ideas, ideals, wisdom ect and its gonna be digested differently by the student and applied differently as well because everyone thinks differently from eachother which accounts for personality development, temperment and the things that cannot be passed along even of they tried! Which is why even tho dooku, quigon, and obiwan have vastly different personalities and temperments, but the knowledge and lessons and ideals passed between them are the same in all 3 of them. All three of them just processed and applied that knowledge differently at different levels of sucess/failure... so my point is that even tho those 3 masters may appear vastly different from eachother (which they are) but at their core they are all the same in terms of the lessons that shaped them which means they were all cut from the same cloth n being cut from the same cloth connects u on a level only blood family can rival...

On Geonosis Count Dooku could have just as easily cut off Obi Wan's arm and leg. Instead he lightly grazed them! I would say incapacitating Obi Wan with such minor wounds would take more precision and purposeful skill than amputating his limbs!

Jesus was a sith lord

Both him and Anakin said "if you arent with me then you're against me"

To which Obi-Wan said "only a sith deals in absolutes"

The Jedi would hear of Jesus's plan to bring divison and turn father against son then arrest him

Could only imagine what would happen if he broke his legs when that huge heavy platform fell on them yeah.
