Well, Dooku at the time is superior to them in skillset and force abilities. He might not be as physically strong but he is a tactician and most importantly always remains calm. Plus, remember Dooku trained Qui-Gon so its hardly likely Obi-Wan gets an edge on him and as for Ani he always manages to do better than Obi with Dooku but his overconfidence is his weakness, especially AOTC Ani.

2 reasons Anakin and Obi-wan lost is that: 1) Anakin refused to work with Obi-wan like he asked him to and 2) he underestimated Dooku's abilities. A combination of Anakin's concern for Padme and his arrogance in believing he's already more powerful than Yoda ends up costing him his arm.

Dooku is literally one of the best duellists in SW. He is also much more skilled in his use of the Force at this point.

After all I still believe that losing to Dooku was in non-compatible lightsabers styles. Obi-Wan used to fight with his middle skill in Soresu, which is opposite to Dooku's Makashi, which sith mastered. Anakin was fighting with Jar Kai, but he was beginner adept of Jem Saw/Shien and with that form he later defeated Dooku near Coruscant

I love how you can actually see the misstep that caused Anakin to lose his arm. He was always a split second too late and got quickly countered. Dooku's shorter lightsaber was able to make quicker adjustments that swept Anakin's guard when he went to use Jar'Kai.

Even if they worked together they'd still lose, it took both gaining realistic wartime experience to catch up in ability, rather than the basic training standerds of the current order.

I still wish the ending of that fight scene between Anakin Dooku was choreographed differently. Anakin was just like: “Here! Go ahead and cut my arm off! I’m wide open!” 😂😂😂

For being the Chosen One, Anakin sure got his butt handed to him, but then again, it would've been boring if Anakin was a Gary Stu who was the Bestest Eva.

Heck, Anakin felt the Jedi were holding him back.
