If Yuzu used proprietary code, then they're boned. If Yuzu is 100% original code, then Nintendo would have to redefine current case law. If Yuzu was closed-source then Nintendo could attempt to bankrupt-via-lawsuit the folks behind it. But it's not, so even if Yuzu does get shut-down, someone else can just pick it up again. If Yuzu is connected to ROM sites then Nintendo can go after them in that regard, but it doesn't appear that they are.
This is just Nintendo being salty (again) about emulation, and are trying to *terrorize the emulation community in advance of their next system.*

Dont forget nintendo is closely tied with the us government and created cease and desists in the first place, they will be trying to make new laws regulating and even banning emulation. And as soon as that happens i quit this hobby for good

Millions of people played tears of the kingdom with emulators. nintendo has every right to stop it. Emulators should have stayed with old games and not the latest. This isn't preservation. it's stealing

The seperation emulation and piracy community are one and the same. To try to separate them is intellectually dishonest. Nintendo's Virtual Console was not filled with pirated games.

Best case scenario: Nintendo wins and piracy is treated like it is in Japan.
