To be fair, this one is for games that are still readily available to the public. You can still buy most switch games physicslly abd csn def buy them digitally.

Yes, but he wasn’t sued for the emulator’s existence (well he was, that just wouldn’t have held up in court with a good enough lawyer, which he couldn’t have afforded, but it would still prob been less than the 2, 4 mil).

But if ya read the actual legal documents, the thing that got him a laser pointed at him was that it wasn’t just some guy who leaked Tears and people played the leak through Yuzu.
It was the fact that he effectively sold builds of Yuzu that could play the leaked game and offered patches to those builds to fix incompatibility issues through his patreon.

So in essence he sold items that allowed people to pirate a soon to be released game. Because he knew that there were literally no ways to play the game officially yet (ya couldn’t dump the files yourself [legal]) and he helped (and profited through sales and not donations) in the process to play those games illegally.

Nintendo and Microsoft are the absolute worst for game preservation. Ps5 games are the only ones that actually have a day one build on disk.

If buying isn't owning. Then pirating isn't stealing.

Do you know how many emulators they have tried to shut down? Some of the. Successfully. There will be a new emulator up by next week

There's a difference between emulating games you can only get on ebay and craigslist and just comitting straight up piracy. Because yes, emulating switch games for free without permission is and should be illegal

Yeah, man. I hate it when Nintendo tells me something costs $60, and then I go to the store a few years later to buy the game at $60, and it's still $60. What kind of sense does that make?
