Our son-in-law tried to influence my husband to control me, make rules for me that he never had in all our years of marriage. I made it clear to my husband the he had no right to interfere in our relationship. Now, he punishes us by keeping our daughter and grandchildren from us. Our daughter treats me disrespectfully because I am an outspoken person who cannot be controlled by them. They favor my husband and disrespect me.

How do you get help getting out of the trap they set? I’m married to one going through divorce and it’s brutal. He lives on the same property in a camper while I’m in the house. Daily he makes life hell for me and because he hasn’t physically threatened or hurt me but stalks me daily! I can’t do a thing about it! In March he handed my 16 year old 4lb dog dead in a bag. The vet’s findings were scary and real and suggested I take measures to protect myself. That’s hard to do with no door knobs or locks including bedrooms because he has removed them all. I’m firm in standing my ground here. The thing is understanding the trauma bond and getting my mind to understand just how bad the abuse was and that my good heart was beaten down to the point of I didn’t care to live anymore. I have to at some point stop letting all of it take over my mind and emotions to move on with life. That’s easier said than done with him less than 50’ away from where I sleep!

I was diagnosed in 1992 with narcissism as one of my personality disorders. I know it's not my fault but all i can do is fake emotions.
