Wanting to save “the marriage” or even “the family” is not a valid or constructive motive. How about having a healthy relationship that is MUTUALLY beneficial for the two people involved? It’s about PEOPLE, not concepts. My ex also said something similar to this caller. When I pressed the issue, she said it was the “house” and the “family” that she wanted to save, not actually our relationship. Well there’s plenty of houses and families that she can have.
