'TOP 10' Tips for PRESSURE WASHING an Airstream / RV Travel Trailer

AFFILIATE LINK DISCLOSURE: Friends, making a quality Loloho video is kind of like making sausage – only slightly more violent. It's a ridiculous amount of work that typically involves high dollar camera drops, blue-screen-of-death computer crashes, and at least one angry shotgun wielding old man shouting, “Hey! Get the hell outta here!” Once the final video is posted, rewards here on YouTube are few and far between (unless you are a masochist who enjoys being verbally abused by anonymous trolls). One saving grace is our affiliate links. JUST CLICKING THESE LINKS HELPS TO SUPPORT OUR LITTLE SHOW. Think of this clicking as like tipping - except that it doesn't cost you anything extra! If you eventually make a purchase via one of our affiliate links, we will receive a few pennies (and Sean typically invests these pennies in duct tape and video gear). Again, it doesn't cost you anything to click these links, and it's a great help to us. As always, safe travels, happy camping, and THANK YOU!

I've never used a power washer so these 10 tips were very helpful!! Thanks.

Most pressure washers have a pressure control so you can dial back the pressure if you are using a more powerful unit. I have had great success with a water swirl tip on my washer. Thanx for the video.

I've not used a pressure washer either.  Good idea.   Thanks for the tips!

And conversely if the hose leaks don't put you hand over it to stop the leak.  Hydraulic lines on equipment can be really dangerous in this regard. I had a little discussion with a laborer once about who's way we were going to pressure wash. He thought it was ok to spray off his boots with our big pressure washer that blasted off the top layer of concrete exposing the aggregate.  He had the good sense to agree with me and stop.  (at least when I was around)

Another thing you can do to reduce your nozzle pressure besides using the 40° nozzle is to purchase a larger orifice nozzle. For example, if your pressure washer came with 3.0 size nozzles, you could purchase a 3.5 or even a 4.0 size nozzle to reduce the pressure that is produced. The larger the number, the larger the orifice size, and the lower the pressure that your machine will produce.

I have a 2800 PSI pressure washer that I can throttle down the engine speed to idle, this makes the pressure much lower and safer on my rig.  As for the roof, ours is aluminum with a white coating. The dealer recommends that you stand only on the rivet lines, that is where the ribs are and is the strongest place on the roof.I did notice that you pressure washed your rig on the road, where did you do that?
Did you bring your pressure washer with you on your trip?

Great tips, thank you. Anyone know if those cheap units they sell at Harbor Freight are OK?

Haha. I did the exact same thing to my foot. Pressure washing in sandals is the only way to go. IT only took a year or so for the scar to go away.

Good video, but it would have been even better if you had mentioned what types of soaps, sponges, and towels to use on the aluminum skin of an Airstream. 👍

+Long Long Honeymoon I am looking into one of those new self-cleaning RVs.  The dealer tells me they are fantastic!

I still prefer a good car or RV scrub brush on a wand. Twelve inches wide and long bristles on all sides with a good cleaner wax soap. It might take longer but is a lot safer and easier I materials. Don't walk on a soapy roof. The pressure washer has it's place but nothing replaces good old elbow grease.

I did just what you did, but I was washing my house. Blew a hole in the top of my foot and injected some bad things which caused infection and a long recovery time. You gave good advice to wear good shoes. How in the heck did your rig get that dirty?

also I wanted to ask you I have a champion 4000 peak 3200 watt generator and I wanted to quiet it down as in some of your other videos it shows real quiet ones of course when you buy them there like that you have any recommendations on how to quiet this one down a little bit it says its campground friendly but to me it's still a little loud or should I just buy another one and replace it and sell this one what do you think

I try not to wear flip flops in any kind of working environment, plus some times I go far as wearing long pants, one I was working on a commercial fishing vessel and cut my shin four inch deep cause a severe stich, used duck tap to heal, no infection, had a scar though, Got to have duck tap on all repairs LOL

We just purchased a pressure washer to wash our fifth-wheel. We have a painted fiberglass body on our rig and I don't think we need to worry about any graphics. The problem we have is that the 40 degree nozzle that came with it is defective and water will not pass through. After making inquiries of the company I haven't gotten any answer is the next size nozzle safe to use or can I purchase  40 degree nozzle somewhere?
