Tom McMurtry attempts to explain the problems with Total Depravity, but finds that he agrees with much - leaving us to wonder exactly where he disagrees. We begin to look into the affects of the Fall, and how this affects the ability of the sinner to receive the spiritual message of the gospel. Tom begins to discuss Original Sin, but is unsure of the difference between the Calvinist Roman Catholic position, pulling the definition from Wikipedia. We will delve into that in the next video.

Clearly, Pastor McMurtry does not understand Total Depravity (which does not bode well for his refutation of the rest of TULIP). And I have to say that I am not surprised. When I spoke with him just a few days ago, we touched on the subject of God. When he insisted that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are not only distinct from one another (which I agree with), but that they are totally separate from one another, and each with their own separate body, each with their own spirit, and each with their own seat of consciousness. This is not Trinitarianism, this is tritheism! He has three separate gods as making up the Triune Godhead. And, of course, by saying the Father and Spirit have their own separate bodies, he is denying the omnipresence of God because he is limiting God to the confining boundaries of a body. He does qualify this belief of his by saying the Father and the Holy Spirit have "spirit bodies", but he describes them as having distinct arms, legs, trunk and head. Thus he is limiting God to existing withing the boundaries of a body. If he cannot understand God (and I did try to explain it to him, he wanted none of it), then how can he possibly hope to understand Scripture or Calvinism? Obviously, he cannot.
