Hi, I'm Devi. Twenty years ago I was an addict with depression, anxiety and severe body pain. I was drawn to yoga for healing and recovery, but I kept finding myself in classes that increased my stress and insecurity with dogmatic alignment rules meant for people with very different bodies than mine.

I almost quit until I discovered the intuitive practice of Yin Yoga. With Yin, I learned to follow my instincts to connect with a deep well of inner resources for healing and recovery. Now almost 50, I’m devoted to sharing this approach to help others.

In 2003, soon after I began teaching yoga, I founded Tucson Yoga Studio and directed a staff of 10 teachers with a full schedule of Hatha, Vinyasa and Yin Yoga classes. We served over 20,000 students a year and we were Tucson's favorite yoga studio for many years.

I sold Tucson Yoga in 2012 and relocated to the San Francisco Bay area where I entered into extensive studies with Paul Grilley. I joined MC Yogi and Amanda Giacomini at Point Reyes Yoga as studio manager and director of the studio’s Yin Yoga Teacher Training program. I’ve now trained and certified over 200 yin yoga teachers since 2015.

Paul Grilley’s influence runs deep in my teachings. I was among the first Yin Yoga teachers that he certified at the 500 hour level in 2013, and I carry forth his life-changing approach to yoga alignment. I’m also greatly inspired by my meditation instructor Lorin Roche who is the author and translator of the Radiance Sutras.

After 20 years of teaching in-person and managing yoga studios, I'm now delighted to be doing all my teaching online, where I've been able to share yin and yang yoga with a global community of students and friends.

When not doing yoga you'll find me dancing, hiking and swimming naked near my home in Southern California.

This is the second time I did this practice and really enjoy it. The idea and imagery of being hugged by my props and of my lungs hugging my heart with each deep breath are life-changing! Thank you so much!

This one was very very good for releasing emotions stuck in the body. I appreciate your distinction between not seeling an edge in a pose so much as seeking an opening of flow (ease). That instruction added a layer of healing in my practice. Thank you.

Want to thank you devi. I decided in Jan. That I was hoping to roll into my 60th year thinner, fitter and flexible. Lost 15 lbs. Doing intermittent fasting. Your practices are yummy. My body is changing for the better. Including mind and soul. Thanks again my fellow human.

I really liked this. I have been sick for a couple months and I haven't been able to do much. This was perfect. I didn't realize how tight my body had gotten. Thank you so much for this practice.

This was a perfect class to start the week. The first time I was introduced to a Restorative class was many years ago after reading Rest & Renew by Judith Lasater. Also, using the bolsters in different ways made this class perfect & I always love to end a class with OM! Namaste from Orlando❤️🙏🧘‍♀️

This was my first time with you. What a joy. I especially appreciated the lack of chatter. Even your practice space was relaxing. Can't wait to check out some more of your videos.

This is an amazing class. I practiced it on a day I just kept repeating to myself I just want to be held so I very much enjoyed the nurturing energy you brought and the practice of hugging the heart with the breath! Very much needed! Thank you for this wonderful practice I feel so supported in my body, emotions, and mind!:)

Doing this practice on New Years Eve, I have felt off all day. Even while in relaxing poses it was hard to breathe. Then all of a sudden I realized that I was no longer having trouble. It was instant and felt amazing. Going into 2024 with gratitude for your classes. Thank you.

I have only subscribed to maybe six yoga channels in the last few years, and none of them have ever done child’s pose with the bolster on blocks. OMG! What a simple but effective difference that made. Thank you!!

Well, my dear, I did this practice this morning thinking it was the first time I did this one, only to discover that I had practiced it last year. Again, when you instructed to let the breath lead you into the stillness of the body I am 82 and in a Kundalini awakening process...I have been for several years. It has been a brutal process for me, one in which the body feels more like a threat than a friend. I really ache to have a loving relationship with my body and your comment brought up that desire in me. I am probably doing better than I think so I will finish by saying: This practice helps me to come home to myself in a deeper way. Namaste' Sweet Girl. Blessings to you!!
