Using this simple technique you can 15X your Nitric Oxide (NO) and improve:

-Blood pressure and vascular function

How?

Hum.

Bacteria on the back of the tongue convert nitrates into Nitric Oxide (NO) and store it in the sinuses.

Humming at a low frequency (~130 Hz) creates resonance in the sinuses that releases this NO into the nasal passages.

This can increase NO 15X!

Here's the protocol:

1. Close your mouth and breathe in through your nose
2. Exhale slowly from your nose on "hum" at a pitch of 130 Hz (a C3 on the piano)
3. Feel the vibration in your sinuses around your nose and eyes
4. Repeat

After a few rounds you'll deplete your NO reservoirs, so take a break and refill them via:

Enterosalivary Pathway:
Eat nitrates. These naturally occurs in meat, notably cured meats, as well as some green vegetables. These give your oral bacteria the food they need to produce more NO.

Nitric Oxide Synthase Pathway:
Eat L-arginine. This is an amino acid, naturally found in good quantities in meat, whereby enzymes convert it to NO.

DO NOT USE ANTISEPTIC MOUTHWASH

To reverse all these benefits from NO all you have to do is use antiseptic mouthwash.

Studies show that using antibacterial mouthwashes kill the bacteria needed to convert nitrates to NO, which is responsible for about 25% of our systemic levels in the body, resulting in higher blood pressure.

The goal is not to sterilize your oral microbiota. Bacteria play an important, symbiotic, role in keeping our mouths and bodies healthy.


*Increasing nitric oxide (NO) has been shown in human trials to decrease systolic and diastolic BP, reduce platelet clotting, increase blood perfusion in the frontal lobe of the brain, improve vascular compliance (dilation and prevention of endothelial dysfunction and resultant issues like atherosclerosis and erectile dysfunction), reduce oxygen costs and enhance muscle contractility efficiency (more oxygen = less lactic acid = better performance), stimulate and mobilize angiogenic cells which improve angiogenesis (growth of blood vessel in bone marrow), improve mitochondrial efficiency, and ward of pathogens as NO has antimicrobial properties and since the mouth and nose are 1st entry points for pathogens to enter the body, NO can provide a 1st line of defense against harmful viruses, fungi, and bacteria.

Gosh, it's almost like nobody in professional health care has any idea of what they are doing. Many of my health problems have been caused by either wrongly prescribed medications or bad advice, especially dietary advice. Meat is a health food and every day I learn something about modern 'food' that deters me from eating anything with even the smallest human interference.

C3 is pretty low for women… I can barely hit it and I’m an alto😅 Poor sopranos, they won’t be able to up their nitric oxide 15x. Unless there’s another vibration we can hum? Always super informative!

You have very white teeth. Do you use any products to achieve that? Do you recommend a particular system? I have sensitive teeth and the usual strips irritate them.

Would you consider [a daily use of] 0.5% povidone as a “mouthwash”? And one to omit (used at one time bc inactivates viruses such as SARS) to avoid killing the nitric oxide bacteria in the throat? Thanks for your thoughts.

What do you think of 'oil-pulling' with coconut oil? Also this reminds me of "the Mozart effect" -& kundalini yoga... with the details. I learned something new re: monthwash.. I knew our mouths have their own microbiome, but didn't know the conversion to NO via our month's biome... awesome

Hmmmm…very interesting! I’ve heard that using mouthwash kills your mouth’s biome. Didn’t know how using mouthwash disrupts one aspect of the body’s ability to take care of itself.

Doesn't arginine also have some kind of effect on folks with herpes simplex who have to take lysine to counterbalance arginine and keep it in remission? Are folks like that going to have deficient nitric oxide?

Very interesting info. But, I have a question. When you go to the dentist and he gives the liquid to wash the mouth during standard cleaning operations, should I ask for simple water or should I stick with that liquid? (I do not know if that liquid is antiseptic, but I will ask)
