In this video, Dr. Berg answers the question if should you drink water before you go to bed and the answer is NO you shouldn’t.

Here are two reasons why:
1. Drinking more water is going to make you get up for the night – It is going to interfere with your sleep.
Other reasons why there’s increased urination at night:
Diabetics
Diuretics
Prostate
Fibroid
Hypercalcemia

2. Dry Fasting – it means you are fasting without drinking any water. The benefits of fasting is huge and when you do dry fasting, it is enhanced even more. It triggers certain types of mechanism that causes adaptation to these great survival benefits.
The average bladder can hold a little more than a cup and a half of urine before certain receptors are triggered forcing you to get up and urinate.

I always drink water before I go to bed and sometimes during the night to keep the blood flowing. This has been a long time recommendation of some cardiologists.Drinking water late also helps with my muscle/body aches. It actually helps my sleep.

I have no issues drinking water 30 minutes before bed time. As a matter of fact, I got rid of my muscle cramps, allergy rhinitis/sinusitis, headache, colds, skin allergies, arthritis, dizziness, positional vertigo & other issues since I drink water 30minutes before bed time aside from drinking 2-glasses of warm water as I wake up in the morning, a glass of water 30minutes before and after meals to complete the 8-10 glasses of water a day. Now I'm totally alkalinized and free of the above-mentioned diseases.

Dr. Berg said right. I never drink water before bed too. It disturbs my well sleeping by wakes me up at night. I usually stop drinking water around 7 pm and go to bed around 9.30, always go to toilet and stretch body before bed time. It supports good sleep 👍
I watch Dr. Berg's channel to getting ready for my master degree 💖

Regarding waking up having to urinate, I found a noble way to deal with it. I was having this problem getting worse and worse; and as I turned 60 I was having to get up twice on some nights. So one day I decided to learn all about the subject, and found out that there is a hormone, vasopressin, which is supposed to be released after you fall asleep, and signals to the kidneys to try and work less hard and reabsorb some of the water. I wondered if the problem was due to low vasopressin, and tried to find out what stimulates its production. Nothing was coming up in my searches, but then I found that vasopressin is mostly made of arginine. I decided to try taking arginine at night, and my problem went away 100%. The problem with arginine is that too much of it can trigger gout. I have that problem, so what I did was to find the sweet spot for me; about 3/4 grams. Another solution I have not tried, for the gout problem, is taking citrulline, instead, which our bodies can convert to arginine as needed. Another solution would be to eat whole lemons, peal and all, which Dr Berg said in some video can prevent gout, if I remember correctly.

If you have a risk of heart attack you should drink before sleep to avoid morning heart attack(triggered by strain from overnight dehydration). This is what the cardiologist said.

This video can't arrive at a better time. I've been going in-and-out of dry fasting for 16 hours to 24 hours for about a year. There was simply intuition. Now I have assertion affirmation that this will work. Thank you so much

"Lose fat and get your water from fat in sleep just by not drinking water before bed" seems a too good to be true kinda claim. There is only 8 hours and I think there is not sufficient time to induce fasting benefits. I drink water at night to keep my Brain and body hydrated and wake up fresh. Hydration is crucial for building muscles too. Is there any evidence behind this theory that not drinking water will lead to dry fasting and then to fat loss? If so I will be happy but, I think it doesn't work like that.

But, cardiologists say there's a good reason to risk a trip to the bathroom and take a drink before bed. A glass of water before sleeping helps reduce the risk of heart attack or stroke.
