Either some Calvinists don't understand Calvinism, or they're willfully misleading by not fully stating their doctrines.

Calvinism is not just another form of soteriology, it is not just a different interpretation of the Scriptures, it is a false Gospel that changes the nature of God.

In the short time that I've debated with Calvinists online, I've learned that most of them have absolutely no clue what Calvinist theology actually teaches. They then end up accusing me of misrepresenting their beliefs when I'm simply criticising Calvinism.

Most Calvinists don't even know that the 5 points are so dependent on one another that if one point is proven to be false, then the whole theology is false. You're either a 5 point Calvinist or you're not a Calvinist at all.

Calvinism is made up of two groups:
The authoritarians and the pietists.
The pietists are always sugar coating the false claims of the authoritarians.

They will just label these people as "Hyper-Calvinsists". Hyper-Calvinists are just consistent Calvinists that actually know what Calvinism teaches. You should have him on y our show, or go on his show.

I think the main issue with Calvinists is that they have redefined many basic terms in idiosyncratic ways, and their followers may not have internalized said redefinitions and their logical consequences. Some of these logical consequences are incompatible with the standard definitions of the words, but because they have not come to terms with the redefinitions they fail to see the logical contradictions that result. The most prominent examples I can think of are the words "Love", "Free will", "Responsibility" and "Sovereignty".

confronting calvinists over the T of tulip: they get angry and argumentative even though God decreed you would confront them and not be a calvinist

I get the sneaking impression that, well...

The reason why Calvinists always tell us "you just don't understand Calvinism" is because they haven't really understood it themselves.

Put another way, the reason why us Provisionists reject Calvinism is because we understand it better than it's proponents.

It is telling that Calvinists have to constantly assure people that "God is not unfair" by doing what they claim He does.

With apologies to Ronald Reagan, who originally made this statement about Communism...
"How do you tell a Calvinist? It's someone who follows Augustine and Calvin. And how do you tell an anti-Calvinist? It's someone who understands Augustine and Calvin!"

Calvinists - "YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND CALVINISM!"

Also Calvinists - "We don't either, but this isn't about us."

I don't quite recall where I heard this from but it defines Biblical predestination well. Imagine a flight to Hawaii at 7 AM that was set. By predestination, anyone who enters the plane will get to Hawaii. Anyone who does not get on the flight, they are predestined not to go to Hawaii. Predestination is the plane that is scheduled to go.

11:25... without the "T" ... there is no need for "ULIP"

Calvinism is a series of contradictions but most Calvinist just listen to the parts they had questions about and swallow the rest without ever thinking it through

You Shelter analogy is fantastic! It is even better when you call it a TOWER because scripture refers to Jesus as the Rock, our Shield and Strong TOWER.

Another great passage, along the lines of God ultimately CHOOSING who is saved, is the end of John 2. Here, many BELIEVE IN HIS NAME but Jesus did not trust Himself to them because HE KNEW WHAT WAS IN THEIR HEARTS.
