same here, my knees were weak from early age so I just stick to hack squats and leg presses rather than using a barbell

deep leg press and hack squat is like a cheat code for quad growth. Can't Barbell squat cause of groin pain and quads grew so quick from hack squats.

This video is almost exactly my quad day routine. I find so much more growth with this and I stopped squatting for the exact same reasons you mentioned.

Dropping the back support on a leg press and increasing the angle of engagment can increase the stretch in you quads. 👌

I agree with all these 3 like these are definitely my top pick even though my legs are well toned since my childhood because of my track and field sports
If i have to add something for more stretch and pacing
It can be Bulgarian squats or weighted lunges

I’m not a fan of the leg press anymore because I find that with enough weight it places so much pressure on my back as the weight just pushes me into the bench and it’s super uncomfortable, especially when I start stacking the plates. It just feels like a very unnatural movement pattern for me, so I’ve been going back to barbell back squats and working on my form but dropping the weight and ego. These feel amazing so far after not squatting for so long, but man they’re tough!

I get that leg presses are a staple and loved by many but just not for me. Find what works for you I guess :)

Thank you for this!!! I’ve been able to do Bulgarian split squats with up to 55lbs each hand and although I can do it I hate them. To the point I’m dreading my workout which is no bueno. Will try these out 🎉

I have the opposite problem, I'm EXTREMELY quad dominant because I used to ride bicycles a lot as an early teen. I have to go out of my way to focus on hamstrings development.

For me (home gym): Hatfield SSB Squat, Belt squat, trap bar deadlift with snatch grip from deficit (low hips).
