My husband is a 100% disabled Vietnam combat veteran with Complex PTSD. Sertraline has changed his life. It has been a wonder drug for him.

The best way is to learn how your body works, I have an anxiety/panic/social anxiety disorder, and it's so bad I can't cross a crosswalk. 😅
But I learned to accept who you are, accept your anxiety, we are different and understand we have to push 100x harder than others, but do what makes you feel calm, like for me chewing gum works, watching a video or games or reading, talk to a friend, do anything to distract you from what's bothering you until you feel calm again. Learn how your body works and then you will know what to do in situations 👍
- before I've taken Prozac and Gabapentin for my moods and switch off and on medication similar like 2 or 3 different ones made me suicidal and I'm a suicide survival these meds made me crazy and made me want to hurt other people.. Never did but had thoughts and I locked myself inside a psychiatric hospital on purpose because I didn't feel safe, after I got out 4 days later I discarded my meds and few months later I felt normal again with normal thoughts and no negative thoughts or any thoughts of wanting to hurt myself, sometimes it's better to just learn how your body responses and cope with your skills that works for you.. Instead of taking in chemicals tk your brain.

Ugh! I hate it when people generalize based solely on their own experience! This and many other medications can be life-saving for some. Im sorry if it didn't work for you. That doesnt mean everyone will have that same response. Talk about what is KNOWN, look at DATA not just one person's experience. Stop giving advice based solely on your experience. LOOK AT THE RESEARCH before you tell anybody else what to do. You might be an outlier. Im not saying you can't share, just saying that opening with, "my experience has been..." is more responsible than, "don't" or "worst medication ever." You could steer someone away from the right treatment for them.

They should also know there is a strong association between SSRI medications and dementia development.

I'm on sertraline since a few years back so I watched this video to get the courage to take pantoprazole which my doctor prescribed. I thought by watching this I could demonstrate to myself that even if the side effects of a medication sound scary doesn't mean I'm gonna have a bad experience with the medication. But this wasn't remotely as scary as pantoprazole, so my little trick didn't really work... 😂

I hate this medication, I got a really bad panic attacks. I'm not willing to take it for 4 weeks until it works, Some people say that it took them weeks before panic attacks went away, I'm not taking that drug again.

One other thing you should know before taking this medication is it in cause violent with drawls if you missed just one single dose now for this to happen, you have to be taking 100 mg daily or higher dose

my smart water teleported from my car to my room and my dogs bowl was gone at 3am when i went in my motel room, also seen a sign that said selling dead people’s things, and seen a zombie waving to me on the side of a interstate so i’m trying to understand why this medicine is fucking with me. i never hallucinated before.

Worst thing I have ever been on walking around all drugged up like a zombie 🧟‍♂️ I wasn't depressed but more anxiety over thinking people are quick to jump on medication best medication is training could be a nice brisk walk weight train or run talking to family and freinds keep busy so your not sat there all day looking at 4 walls fill your day doing constructive postaive things this is what helped me
