Fun fact, the word "personagem" is one of the few words in Portuguese over which natives don't agree on the gender.
Some use it as a feminine word (regardless of the actual gender of the character itself), which is consistent with the fact that basically every word ending in "-agem" is feminine in Portuguese (there are almost no exceptions to this).
Some other people just use it as word of variable gender (using ti according to the actual gender of the character), which is really rare with words ending in "-agem", but it does exist with words as "selvagem".

4:14 - Só uma pequena correcção, Liz: a forma correcta é "eh pá!" (o mesmo acontece com "ó pá!"). Mesmo que as versões "épa!" e "ópa!" estivessem registadas como válidas, teriam de ser "epá!" e "opá!" porque o acento é na última vogal e não na primeira. : )

I'm from India. I watched the series and enjoyed it immensely - until the last episode, which spoilt it all. The story is thrilling and the series superbly made. Very authentic. But the last episode raised more questions that it answered. Mia being alive makes no sense, because there are several scenes in which Joao is alone and is yet searching for her! Also, why does he question Carolina so closely about Mia, when he knows very well that she is not an agent for either side? If Mia is alive then why is Ramiro killed? And, for heaven's sake, why is his wife killed? Quite senseless, actually. So, I repeat - an excellent series - until the last episode, which spoils it.
