Great talk between Peter Levine and Thomas! We recommend watching the whole conversation. The relationship between trauma and spirituality is very important.

I think it does matter when you look at the trust issues you gain. It was indivuals in turn that hurt me so im sceptic at a individual level while people ive met that have experienced violence from multiple sources or war they have a broader scepticism.

I respectfully disagree. I don't think it matters whether you start working with someone on collective trauma or acute/individualized trauma. People aren't always "bypassing their own difficulties through dealing with the collective." If someone finds strength and the ability to begin healing when they feel connected to others - why not go with that? Why prioritize/privilege the individual experience vs the collective? You can end up excluding a lot of people, especially those from collectivist cultures but others as well, if you require them to begin with what you have described as their own individual feelings. "The person's not the problem, the problem is the problem."
