When your trauma is so deep seated it's affected your entire being and will probably follow you to the grave

Telling someone with:
-Depression to “just be happy”.
-Anxiety to “just stop worrying”.
-Self Harm Issues to “just stop cutting”.
-Insomnia to “just go to sleep”.
-Anorexia to “just eat”.
-Bulimia to “just keep it in”.
-Other Problems to “just get over it”.

Is like stabbing yourself with a knife, saying “just stop bleeding” then you’ll magically be healed.
*It doesn’t work like that.*

*The above not made by me*.

As someone with many of those, I know..

Trauma affects us way more than we realize a lot of the time. It is important to address it, as painful as it is, or it will continue to cause suffering. Sending out so much love to anyone going through this. You are not alone. <3

Complex trauma is a mess.

People often won't understand that multiple traumatic things happen to you and get confused if you can't just tell them "what happed" in a short single story. They will often get frustrated when you don't just tell them "THE" event that left you with trauma and are confused because they don't understand why you are "behaving so weirdly". There is also this assumption many have that if a person mentions multiple "negative" thing that happened to them it instantly means their lying and just making up things. Because "that doesn't sound realistic" and "things like that don't happen". You'll be perceived as a attention craving, spoiled child that just wants to use 'mental illness and life's hardships' as a tool to make people feel bad for you.

I've been told off by multiple therapist and social workers because "sure I guess there's a possibility that 'all those things' happened to one person alone. But the chances for something like that to actually happen.... It's not likely, is it now?.... So I'm not saying that it's impossible that what you're telling me is the truth, I think you might just be 'over reacting' and making things 'bigger than they are'.... I think that's a lot more likely." (this is an actual think I've been told by a psychology)

Even when you get a good therapist that is actually willing to listen, it can still be difficult. It can be hard for them to actually tell your different traumas apart and figure out which of your symptoms are related to which of the experiences.

It's all a big mess basically....

But that doesn't mean nothing can change for the better.

When you've been mentally, sexually, physically, emotionally abused, neglected, growning up with two totally different types of toxic parents and you're suicidal since the age of 10, have anxiety and major depressive disorder, emotionally, mentally and physically exhausted by my parents, suicide overwhelms me and I just want peace, i feel alone and this channel has been slightly comforting for me, this morning I woke up to my toxic mom saying that mental illness is lie and making fun of me with her friends, I always feel betrayed by her, I've slit both my wrists, but this you tube channel popped up in my mind because I've been following it for a while and the comments make me feel that I'm not alone and give me sense of relief something I haven't felt in 6 years since I was 9, thankyou .

I dealt with bullying all through my childhood and I didn't realise it could be considered trauma, I thought that it wasn't because I thought it wasn't a big deal that I was severely bullied from that ages of 6-17 and it's still happening now (I'm 18 now)
I didn't realise it was chronic trauma and this video helped me realise that it was and is considered trauma.

I wonder how many people have been traumatically affected by the pandemic? I keep getting the impression it's going to leave at least 2 generations having to live with lasting trauma from this.

For you guys (1) Big T Trauma: single traumatic events that have long lasting impacts on an individual. (2) Small T Trauma: traumatic events that result from personal events. (3) Acute Trauma: Trauma that occurs from a single incident (4) Chronic trauma: Repeated events (5)Complex Trauma: Multiple events

You know, I have no friends due to unhealed trauma. Every time I tried to make friends with a classmate, they stabbed me in the back and laughed at my failures and interests. It was exceptionally painful when I had a friend I worked hard for, always invited to my house and events, and even worked my butt off for gifts and she left because I was 'too clingy', even though she always came to my house and never warned me. I don't trust, or feel as connected to, anyone anymore.

Oh wow...I'm realizing how damaging elementary school was for me. Literally every negative aspect of me as a person there is, I can pinpoint a reason that traces back to elementary. Not sure if things will change.

Im not a person with many traumas but the passing of my grandma was a very tramatic thing for me ever since i was young. It gave me the fear of death and the fear of being in or attending church. Till this day even talking thinking about her can instantly bring tears into my eyes. Now since its my last year of school, im going to take phycology and therapy classes so i can help people deals with their trauma and give therapy to those in need💕

It's random, but I'm really glad there's a Japanese version of this channel. Suicide rates are the highest in Japan.

You reading this, you deserve love, understanding, and support. You deserve to be able to live life feeling like a person without your trauma's haunting every step you take. You deserve to be happy and you deserve to not have what has happened to you stop you from living the life you want. It'll be hard work, but you're worth it <3
