 Also, as you're doing this exercise, tuck your pelvis in. Then, tuck your chin in and bring your head straight back. (You may want to work with a personal trainer in the beginning, to be sure you are doing the exercise correctly, if you are learning this exercise for the first time). Hold the posture for 8 seconds as you remember to breathe. Relax and then repeat, for about 3 or 4 times in a row. As it gets easier, build your way up to doing it 5 or 6 times in a row. It may be necessary to repeat these exercises 3 to 6 times per the day, on a regular basis, in order to get good results.
If there is excessive pain, it might be good idea to consult a qualified health care provider before continuing these exercises.
It may especially be a good idea to see a Neuromuscular Therapist to work out any trigger points, and correct some of your muscular imbalances before doing this exercise.

Wow w0w very powerful.I tried this using the flat band with hands as in the video and also with palms front-facing. This is a killer pull on some of the body's larger muscles which were definitely asking for a litte stretchout afterwards, especially for one who's older/old and not superfit.

It seems to combine two major movements, that people would have hard time to do, shoulder blade retraction and shoulder joint external rotation. Nice combo.

Thanks a lot! Really simple and very effective! For me it is even to do with an easy band. On the other hand I can do a muscle up or handstand pull up on rings. So I know now which part of my body is very undevelopped. And it expains my bad posrure.

In the video you mention doing the exercise after the big lifts. Do you think it would be beneficial for someone who already has forward rounded shoulders to do this before hand and even possibly throughout the bench routine so that they could teach their body to have their shoulders back and in correct posture?
