30 minute Pyramid Walking Workout | Seniors, Beginners

Показать описание
This low impact indoor walking workout is about 3300 steps. It will strengthen your cardiovascular system and tone your arms, back, shoulders, legs, hips, and glutes. The video consists of 5 sets of 5 exercises in a pyramid format. All exercises are done in sets of 20 seconds, 30 seconds, 40 seconds, 30 seconds and 20 seconds.

The five exercises are:
✳️ Side step/Row
✳️ 3-step kick/forward and back
✳️ Grapevine/one arm raise
✳️ Step forward/back with side steps
✳️ Step out with double arm pushout

This workout can be tailored for all levels. Do the exercises at your own pace and build up stamina gradually. This workout can be done as a high intensity interval training (HIIT) session if you do the exercises at a higher intensity (80-90% of your maximal heart rate). A good gauge is the talk test -- you're near your max heart rate if you feel out of breath after an exercise round and can talk with some difficulty. (Please check with your doctor before doing HIIT workouts or other exercise.) The rest periods lower your heart rate and prepare you for the next set.

Hi Ladies! I've been doing your routines for several months now. I am in my mid 70's and in reasonably good shape. Exercising with you and your mom soon made me feel quite fit with increased stamina. Even enough that I added weights. Your videos are clearly safe (PERFECT) for me as long as I use your mom as my leader, and keep up with her which is what I SHOULD be doing in order to stay safe and fit.
I am making this comment in hopes of reaching other elderly women that might do what I did, YOU and your mom had me feeling so good. I foolishly thought I could challenge my elderly body further. I took it to new level by exercising with a different video geared for 55+ (Not one of yours.OOPS) I added weights and began lunges, jacks, skaters, etc. Summary within 2 weeks of that I fractured three metatarsals in one foot. Thus I've been in a knee high boot for going on 6 weeks. Point here is I learned a hard lesson. It turns out as we age our bones usually thin and become brittle. It's a natural part of aging. I know I should have known better, but my confidence and pride got the better of me.
The consensus is elderly people should not be jumping up and down with weights, Maybe not even without weights. I am on the mend and looking forward to returning to your routines with you and mom. I think I've got about two weeks to go. Can hardly wait! Thank you for presenting safe workouts for seniors.

My name is Debbie and I’m 45. On 10/22/21, I had an abdominal hysterectomy. My surgeon wanted me to start walking a little each day, but we live on a steep hill in RI, and it’s quite chilly. The walking workouts on YouTube were way too fast for me, but I found your workouts and started with the 5 minute workout, at my slow pace, then gradually went up to the 10 minute, and so on, and gradually increased until I made it to the pyramid workouts, which I love. Now today, I’m 3 weeks and 3days post surgery, and I feel so much better, and I’m so thankful for both of you, and Mochi, for getting me moving, because moving is helping me to heal, and I’m feeling so much better. I’ve even tried the Intermediate workout and love it. I love the stretching workouts, too. I have to wait until I’m 6 weeks post op to try the strength workouts, but it’s something to look forward to. So, not only are these workouts great for Seniors and Beginners, but also for people recovering from surgery. You’re fun to watch and you’re very motivating. Thank you so much!

Always love your pyramid workouts because they are low impact and they don't hurt your joints. It's more challenging in the beginning and gets easier as you continue the exercises. You see the end coming! HaHa I am 81 and have neuropathy plus osteoarthritis. So, I think I'm doing pretty well for my age and will continue your wonderful workouts to stay as healthy as I can.... So appreciate the variety of exercises you have made and continue to make with your Mom!

I did it for the first time today and you made it fun with your mother and, of course, the cat. I enjoyed and adding it to my list.

I had family visiting again since I live in Tampa and they reside way out of town. Felt a little sluggish when they were here because I didn't have a chance to do your videos. Did one of my favorites when they left and boy did I feel energized when I completed the pyramid using 3 pound weights throughout! Hugs to your terrific Mom, to you and Mochi.❤

Mochi's casual entrances and exits to just out of reach resting spots while keeping an eye on everyone had me laughing and working out at the same time! It 's been fun watching Mochi grow over the past year. On this Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada, I give thanks for the blessing of an encouraging Yes2Next community.

You ladies are such an inspiration! Love this workout...and bonus points for not stepping on Mochi! He is cute, and I love how he just kind of appears out of nowhere before the last round, lol.😊 Keep making these great videos!

My grandma has been asking me what type of exercises are the best for her and I didn’t know which type of workouts to show her, now that I’ve discovered your channel I’m going to show it to her even thought she doesn’t speak English 😊
