"You have to be poor to be an artist !"
"You have to use brand tools to be an artist"

So nobody can be an artist

At school this kid told me "Animation isn't a real job and your animations aren't good anyway, "
I responded with
"I guess those Disney animators were just amazing from the start...huh?"

I hate it when people say it's a gift to be able to draw so good and I look at them thinking, "bruh it took me 7 years to learn this crap and you call it a gift?"

My friends mom does not let my friend post her digital art on Instagram, because she does not like it or believe it's real. It triggers me and it also makes me sad because all the people who choose to follow her will never see all her talents in digital art.

Thank you for this Jazza, I am one of those latecomers you mentioned, a single mum of 3 in her forties and although I meet this kind of prejudice on a daily basis I have never been happier and more content with my life. I love art, I'm determined to teach myself this new digital media and your generosity and teaching continue to be invaluble to me. Thank you!

"Cheap materials"
Yeah. I love Crayola! :D So cheap so I don't have to worry about wasting colored pencils! Not to metion if you can make things look really good with cheap supplies imagine how good you'll be with expensive supplies later.

There should be a video like this for all subjects. Like: Singing, Programming, Writing.
Basically, there should be a version of this video for everyone's passion. If you like doing it, do it ... as long as it's legal...

Here's something I want to know your opinions of.. Does it annoys you when someone describe your art as a "talent" when you worked hard for it ?

"I studied at the academy of Blah blah blah, Hohoho *sips on coffee*" this made me laugh so hard xD

The tracing and copying part makes me happy.
Cuz one artist on youtube said that tracing doesn't help you learn how to draw ;^;

I've heard the Academy of Blah Blah Blah has very expensive tuition.

My art teacher thinks of me as one of the top 5 "best artists" at my school, not because I'm "good" at it. Its just because I love art with a burning passion, and she knows the art I do out of school (semi-realism and manga/anime)

All through out elementary school most of my teachers made fun of me or got mad of me for doodling on my home word or notes. Even my elementary school art teacher hated that I drew cartoons and not still life and other stuff. Once I was done with my project early and I was free drawing like my friends where doing too but she only targeted me and showed my picture to the class and ripped it. I cried.. everyone laughed at me except a few friends but we where to shy to stand up for ourselves. I'm 5th grade(the last year of elementary school) my math teacher always completed my doodles on my homework and my drawings in my binder, she helped my self confidence and I became so much more social and confident! I stood up to my art teacher one day and she stopped picking on my and my friends but still gave me harsh grades.. now that I'm in 6th grade (middle school) my art teacher is so supportive to all students and gives us tips based on our own style!

OK, so I have watched this video a number of times and I really want to say 'thank YOU', Jazza. You are at the heart of this community and I think your attitude has a lot of good influence on how it has formed.
I really admire your work and enjoy all the various contents you have to offer!

Looking forward to what's coming next!
Keep up the good work and Thank you!

Things that annoy me when people see my art at school:
1.)They ask me to draw something I never draw
2.)They try to look in my drawing book
3.)They say I draw like a 20 year old but I don't and I barley even try. I'm also not close to being 20 yet

For anyone who has been told, 'not good enough, " at any time in your life, I have a method for you. Turn the feelings of 'not being good enough' to 'not practising enough', because that motivates you. It motivates you to move on, and be who you are! If you believe your good enough, others will too. Don't be arrogant, and don't tell others the words, 'not good enough'. What do you want to get out of what you've been told you're 'not good enough' at? If it's to have fun... Have fun! If it's to get a career, use that as motivation and don't stop practising and doing what you love.
I want to be a singer, and get rich. Now, you may be thinking that I'm shallow, but I'm not. When I have enough money to pay off the debt my parents are in, I'll give it to them. I'll give it to them as a parting gift before disowning them. I don't like how my parents insult me, then say 'we don't insult each other in this family' when me and my brother are fighting! I want to be richer than you can imagine, and share that with everyone! Find people's operations, donate to the poor, give hope to the homeless, and help in every way that I can! I watch people like Jazza, because that's what they love to do! They're happy, and watching them do what they do makes *me* happy! I want you to never give up, no matter what, and let those people who say 'not good enough' fuel you to keep going!

so an artist must suffer and be poor but at the same time has to use expensive equipment and visit the best art schools. probably that's why they're poor heh. the most expensive thing i needed for my art was my graphic tablet and everything i know about anatomy and drawing now was pretty much self-taught, so no art school needed so far.
