I appreciate that you kept the stall in the video, makes me feel a bit better knowing we all do it.

A ha! So “slow” speed turns actually require speed. I never made this connection, thank you!

Greg,
You do a great job. I instructed for years with the airlines, including working with new instructors. One of the things that you're very good at is keeping things short and simple. When I click on a YouTube instructional video and see that it's 32 minutes, I oftentimes look elsewhere. Typically they have 4 minutes of material crammed into 32 minutes with 28 minutes of rambling. The quickest way to lose a student is to bury them with information (read information overload). You're very good at not doing that. Thanks for the great training videos you've produced and keep up the good work.

Adding speed to assist with the lean definitely works. But there are also many real world situations on the street where carrying 8-12 mph into a maneuver is too fast, such as when you need to be able to make a series of tight turns from a stop to extricate yourself from a forest of motorcycles at your favorite hangout, or maneuvering through a congested gas station where some tight and fancy turns need to be done slowly. At some point in practicing u-turns and tight turns, having gained comfort level at higher speeds, the next level in skill is to be able to bring the speed way down and practice tight maneuvers at very slow speeds, with lots of counterbalancing.

Hi, newbie here 🚳 . I took the basic safety course last month. Had I found you then I likely would have graduated. Came across your channel while researching a first bike a couple weeks ago and have been binge watching every since. Not only do I know what I need to work on, but now I know how. I'm excited about getting a bike! Wanted to learn to ride for a very long time. Got the perfect parking lot around the corner from house. I'm taking the course again next month. Your app is loaded, got gloves, helmet, boots. Jacket picked out. Narrowed my bike choices to 3.

This is very very helpful, it's something I'm not very good at. I need lots of practice, so thanks very much! Nice stall at the end. 😁

All nice and dandy but if on the other side there's gravel or a wall the last thing you want to add to a turn is lean angle and speed just to realize too late you can't make it.

Ah man crazy slow traffic taught me that "pausing little bit things" very well. Actually it's a bit more than just a little bit for me because the traffic is really crazy. I am really happy to see this as a practice drill.

Serious telepathy, just this week I was thinking of low speed turns and counter leaning vs the few that can low speed and lean in the same direction as the bike and here you are answering what I wanted to ask. Good job👍👍👍

you taught me more about lowspeed in just 4 minutes than any of the 10+ minute videos I've seen in the past. definitely going to an empty parking lot tomorrow!

Thanks for this. I’m one of those riders that’s still somewhat intimidated to make u-turns.
