The new testament NEVER says we chose Him, it always says He chose us. A child should understand that. Anything else is a humanistic twist.

Nobody will be in he'll who's sins were paid for. You have people going to he'll who's sins were paid for. And unbelief is a sin. Jesus said "The world's sin is unbelief in Me." So the believers sin of unbelief was paid for too. Justice was served at the Cross, not a possibility of Salvation. That isn't how atonement works. If your sins are paid for then they are stoned.

Now if you say you're saved if you do this and that, make a decision, say a prayer, you're adding to salvation. The Bible clearly says Faith and Repentance unto Life are a gift. You don't use all verses like "Be chose us in Christ before the foundation of the earth."

The Bible uses election and choose over and over again, and it's ALWAYS God choosing us. It's an American pop gospel to say we choose Him . Jesus said " You have not chosen me but I have chosen you."

To say that God looked down the hallway of time and saw who would and would not believe in Him and then chooses those people means that God looked into time to LEARN & therefore was not all-knowing at some point which is unbiblical and means YOU serve a different God.

Only saved people are predestined to the Adoption ( rom 8.23 ) sinners are not predestined to anything. We are not adopted when we are saved . We become a child of God through the new birth . John 1.12 .

If you assume that that one scripture refutes predestination, then I would advise you to look at the verses that follow that. In an arminian mindset, God gives everyone an equal call to Him to accept Jesus as their savior. Essentially, everyone is given the call to salvation, and then God sits back and waits for the right response. The problem with this is, is that when you read the verses that follow, it states, "Those who He predestined, He also called, and those who He called He justified, and those who He justified, He glorified." If God gives everyone the exact same call, then everyone will be justified and glorified. . . So, this implies that everyone is in heaven. This is obviously not the case. I advise you to also look at the Greek/Hebrew parallels to "foreknew" it can be referenced to Amos and 2 Chron, the word, "yada" and be seen as "chosen" in the english language. Just my thoughts on that. I am not a Calvinist, not yet at least, but I think that this argument just is not well rounded.

Paul Washer’s gospel is spot on.
Christ death was sufficient for all but only effective for the elect.
No way as a sinner would you choose God if He doesn’t intervene through the HS. We were dead in our trespasses until He made us alive.
Check out the book of Romans especially chapter 9.

If Jesus died from the sins of everyone then there are people in hell wrongfully suffering. If Jesus died for all the sins of some people (the elect, those who believe) then God's justice is appeased. Your view on the atonement is either universal or limited, there is no in between.
