What do you do when everything around you feels like "busy work", devoid of any real meaning or significance? Or like you're "running out the clock (of life)" and you're just trying not to look at the clock? This was helpful as a temporary fix, which is better that the painful void of overthinking.

Summary:-
1) Focus like a flashlight on one thing instead of all over the place. Focus first on what matters most to you right now.
2) Take a deep breath, and with mindfulness, be present in the now - not the past or future. Notice your breathing, and listen to the sounds around you. Notice how your body feels.

3) Let go of control. Practice acceptance.
4) Sometimes stop overthinking obsessively on one thing, e.g. a worry, and shift your perspective to something relaxing or fun.
5) By finding a way to stay calm while facing our challenges, we build mental strength.

Daily practices (even for just 5 minutes):-
* Focus on your breath.
* Notice your thoughts without letting them control you.

Excellent road map for coping with life. My little thought is, don't expect to always get what you want, and if you can cheerfully accept that, then you will clearly see that what does transpire is good also.
