For overthinkers like me: Instead of "Don't think, do", you should "Think, but do anyway". Acknowledge the fact that most of the time you will need to try again a few times to get where you NEED to go. Sometimes that need won't line up with the want, but thats okay. There are enough combinations of ideas that will eventually line up for you. I, being only 25 and learning this within the past year, have a lot I need to experience before I know where I need to be. Hopefully its where I want to be and soon 😂

Dr K, I spent my 20s trying to give myself brain damage through drugs, alcohol, and reckless head injuries because I can't make thoughts stop happening and I have no one to talk to that stimulates me intellectually. It didn't work, please help.

If you have trouble making that first step when it seems like nothing works, even therapy, try drugs! Antianxiety meds helped me actually get out there more often and actually accept that L. Now therapy is finally making progress for me after 3 solid years of anti productive effort

I almost agree.

Practice is only as good as your trainer.

Some people will teach themselves the wrong way to do things because they were rewarded for their bad behavior.

sitting down at a piano and messing around on the keys with no idea what you're doing will make you better at piano much faster than watching tutorials on the internet.

I have this impulse where I obsessively overthink casual conversations that I had and how I could make them better which REALLY distracts me and opens me up to a new impulse of Now I feel bad. THANK YOU SO MUCH for this video Dr. K. Our desires can really manipulate us into really bad situations.

how i can tackle that having adhd, asd and being a "gifted kid" in my 34y. I mean, i can force some healthy habits (and i did some), but im not sure if i can keep them for long, even if I have a routine, that's not guaranteed (it gives me anxiety).

Good advice, i'll try to stick to that. But im overwhelmed
