overthinking is the fastest way to be unhappy when it didn't even happen.

Overthinking has been my biggest issue throughout the years. Overthinking leads to me being anxious and when my thoughts start to get out of control, I'll be depressed afterward.

From personal perspective, if you start feeling the thoughts creep in or even flood in:

Get yourself a little mini therapist you.

Whenever I start feeling stressed out due to thinking too much, I make myself go through this little ‘therapy session’ where I reflect and then reply to these reflections as if they came from a close friend of mine who needs help.

A small internal therapeutic moment really helps a lot, because the only person you’ll ever trust 100% is yourself.

Everyone needs a friend, sometimes that friend should be you. <3

Today, I cried in P.E. for getting a C in a specific topic, because I grew up in a household with high expectations. Even though my dad did not care about my grade and says it’s my thing if I write a bad grade in exams, I’m still super scared of failing BECAUSE of these high expectations and overthinking. I’m writing a math exam on Friday and last time a had a panic attack and couldn’t properly breath. My math teacher knew something was wrong and we talked a lot about my family situation and mental health. And she said that she doesn’t care if I’ll have a good or a bad grade. It matters that I have to stay calm and not focus too much on the length or the difficulty of exams. Because then I can really concentrate and properly write my exams without overthinking too much.

I over think CONSTANTLY and I know I shouldn’t but it’s so hard not to. I’ll definitely use these tips to help though ❤

I overthink because I'm autistic. Like when I start a conversation and I say something, I feel like I made a fool of myself and wonder if I said it right or did it come out right. I sometimes overthink over small details.

However, I’m slowly improving!😁👍

Hey Psych2go,
I have to thank you for 1. Getting me more interested in mental health and 2. Basically helping me find the love of my life, my boyfriend. I found him on your discord channel and now we're together for a few months. I also found the courage to ask a professional to help me and it makes me feel better. Sorry if there are typos or grammar mistakes, English isn't my first language.
Thank you for everything <3
Greetings from a quiet viewer from Germany :3

I'm so glad this exists. I'm self aware that I'm just overthinking so I badly want to find a way how to end this negative intrusive loops of thinking in my mind 😭

Overthinking had greatly impacted my life even until now. I am such a perfectionist and a people pleaser because I always think that no one will like me if I make mistakes. And if I do make mistakes, I blame and criticize myself so much to the point where all negative thoughts about myself keep spiraling inside my head and repeating itself at random times everyday. It became a bad habit of mine and I still can vividly remember what I had done wrong in the past instead of the good memories. I would also daydream about myself being perfect and admired by everyone and that would be my source of happiness even though I know it will never be real.

Edit: Yeah I know my mind is messed up lol, sorry for the rant.

Wow, I’m early. I love this video. It definitely helps me put things into perspective. I’ve struggled with overthinking for too long. And most of the time, the scenarios that I’m afraid will happen NEVER HAPPEN. I know it’s SO easy to be negative, but putting in a little more effort to be positive will have lasting positive effects down the road. We got this ❤.
