Euro NCAP Crash & Safety Tests of MG 4 Electric 2022

Показать описание
Euro NCAP performs a series of crash and safety tests on car models:
- a frontal impact test, 50% of the width of the car is striking an oncoming deformable barrier, also travelling at 50 km/h
- a frontal impact test, the car impacts a rigid full width barrier
- a side impact test, a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door
- a pole test, the tested car is propelled sideways into a rigid pole.
A series of pedestrian tests are conducted with different impactors, adult and child head form, lower and upper leg form and whiplash tests are performed on a sled as well as AEB pedestrian and cyclist tests.
Active safety is tested based on the car’s equipment: autonomous emergency braking car-to-car scenarios, occupant status monitoring (including seatbelt reminders), lane support and speed assistance technologies.

All details on the Euro NCAP Website:

I’m very impressed how it held up to that pole. Barely any intrusion.

Can confirm, the lane departure system tries to murder you at least 10 times per journey

The AEB system seems pretty hit and miss (pardon the pun). Rear ended a car, hit a cyclist and a child. Not good enough considering the Ora Funky Cat scored higher.

"Lane Support : 3/4 - Euro NCAP" Can't say that in the real world. As a MG4 owner, I can confirm : the LKA/ELK can be really unreliable. It's baffling how what is meant to make you safer, is trying to kill you and/or the others. Gotta love the tedious steps to deactivate those EVERY SINGLE TIME you start drivng. Easy to forget and drive away.

After seeing the crash test results I'll be getting one

This thing got 75% of pedestrian electronics, despite hitting and failing in two tests, but Maxus got 73% without hitting a single person!?

if only the lane assist actually worked like that in real world scenarios, i had my mg4 for less then a day and the lane assist tried to drive me into oncomming traffic, and tried to drive me off the road repeadetly, not once did it actually keep me in my lane it always tried to make me depart from it in potentially fatal ways, the system is so dangerous i won't even do short trips with it enabled... also due to the stupid regulations forcing it to turn on every time to get a good ncap rating, they ruined an otherwise good car, especially because MG has software issues so even if i disable it before driving it'll come back on.

The LKA is more dangerous to use than not. Screw these stupid requirements.

NCAP testing initial products and first versions however the company is still working on it and releasing updates for software.

New versions may increase or decrease the overall performance.

Lane assistance is a pretty dangerous thing in some cases. But it also saved me a few times, expecially useful at night, long ride

Passenger side airbag shouldn't inflate in frontal collisions with nobody in the seat

It gets 5 stars without central airbag?
