Euro NCAP Crash & Safety Tests of Peugeot 308 2022

Euro NCAP performs a series of crash and safety tests on car models:
- a frontal impact test, 50% of the width of the car is striking an oncoming deformable barrier, also travelling at 50 km/h
- a frontal impact test, the car impacts a rigid full width barrier
- a side impact test, a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door
- a pole test, the tested car is propelled sideways into a rigid pole.
A series of pedestrian tests are conducted with different impactors, adult and child head form, lower and upper leg form and whiplash tests are performed on a sled as well as AEB pedestrian and cyclist tests.
Active safety is tested based on the car’s equipment: autonomous emergency braking car-to-car scenarios, occupant status monitoring (including seatbelt reminders), lane support and speed assistance technologies.

Additional tests and checks have been done to ensure that the rating also applies to the 308 PHEV.

I expected it to be way safer. Hopefully they will make them safer soon. Altought if you pay extra for the safety it will have a 5 star rating, this one has the standard crash saftey level.

Stellantis seems to be content with only 4-star ratings for their vehicles which is very disappointing, especially considering much cheaper cars have a 5-star rating

Stellantis needs to step its game up. Both the 308 and the Opel Astra did not achieve the highest 5 star rating.

It doesnt absorb the energy very well the driver's head dives a pot in the frontal crash also the airbag seems to be harder than expected also electronic systems aren't perfect

DOnt know what people are complaining. Have they seen the demanding tests that many cars are having from 0 stars to 3 stars? Even DS4 is having a 4 stars rate.
Side poles tests was amazing, the dummys barely move from the side airbags, children occupants 84% approval, AEB is according to at least the average I have been seeing from the price equivalent cars.

Well, I saw crashtest of my Mondeo MK2 and then my present Peugeot 308 T9 SW and helly I am glad I did not crashed with my Mondeo... The T9 has more less the same safety as this 2022 version.

To me, the issue is the seat, traveling too much forth, back and forth again, making the driver to be squished to the wheel regardless how well airbag deployed.
But structure of the car is sturdy: check the A pillar. Here it is better than many other cars in the same class that got 5 stars.
