Euro NCAP Crash & Safety Tests of BYD SEAL 2023

Euro NCAP performs a series of crash and safety tests on car models:

▶ a frontal impact test where 50% of the width of the car strikes an oncoming deformable barrier, travelling at 50 km/h
▶ a frontal impact test where the car impacts a full-width rigid barrier
▶ a side impact test where a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door
▶ a pole test where the car is propelled sideways into a rigid pole and the robustness of the centre airbag is evaluated
▶ a whiplash test performed on a sled.

A series of pedestrian tests are also conducted with different impactors : adult and child head form, lower and upper leg form. As well as AEB pedestrian and cyclist tests. In 2023 a test scenario for Cyclist Dooring Prevention was introduced.

Active safety is rated based on the performance of the car’s equipment: autonomous emergency braking car-to-car and car-to-motorcycle scenarios, occupant status monitoring (including seatbelt reminders, fatigue, distraction and impairment), lane support and speed assistance technologies.

I got the BYD Seal(CLTC 700km) handed over to me on Oct of 2022, so an entire year and 17500kms already up to now, most of the time I drive within the downtown area but I have driven back to my hometown which is 500km away from my company as well, I got 18% battery left when I reach home. I have the experience of driving BMW 3 series, Benz C class, but I love Seal the best. You deserve one if it is within your budget.😊

as expected. ctb structure makes sure this car has extrem rigidity and can withstand collision better than almost all other cars. look at the side collision which is most deadly, seal's body frame barely changed. byd can improve on its ADAS, though it is adequate now.

More than 10 years ago, there was a Chinese brand got 0 score at the crush test in EU, just because there was no warning sound if the safety belt is not plugged. No doubt it's an intentional humiliation from the arrogant EU people. Those days has long gone. Chinese car makers are making the waves now.
