Your stomach was just bloated so it was easy for you to get that result, y'all need to do a whole body workout, not only crunches if you wanna lose weight seriously, also doing 500 crunches can put your neck and back at risk.

Either

A. You didn't do enough
B. You didn't do enough per set
C. You didn't do enough good full crunches

If you were doing it right you wouldn't be able to do them 7 days in a row. Try to push yourself to failure every time. And if Day 2 you arent too sore to barely do any at all, finish yourself off by working yourself to failure. Whether it takes 1000 more, or just 100, or barely 20, push yourself to that point. Then spend Day 3 resting your core, maybe Day 4 as well depending in your recovery. Then repeat the process until youre doing thouands of crunches in a day just to reach your limit. Then start doing weighted crunches so you dont need to spend all day crunching.

Stick to that and not eating too much pizza for a year. 1 year from now look at yourself in the mirror and marvel at what youve turned into. Know that who you are now is the person that did that.
