I had the most stressful day talking to tech support because the headset for my son's spanish program would not work, the headphone part worked but the mic was not working and after wasting over hours it was unresolved, but a new headset (which I needed to anyway cause the padding on my old one was falling off) and that wasn't working either, thought my PC had an issue. My mic's problem is that It works fine for a few minutes then just stopped working then becomes static (sometimes there's no sound at all) then it will work again then stop, work stop work stop.

Thanks so much! I didn't know how to do school without my mic! The step that helped me was between 1:30 and 2:45. Instead of raising my volume, I saw the speaker option next to the volume increase/decrease had a megaphone with a red circle with a line through it. I clicked it, and it turned into a megaphone with blue sound waves coming from it. Thanks again!

I have searched for the error for two weeks now, deinstalled my mic, reinstalled it, searched for driver updates, went through everything...and now you are telling me that it were my private settings all along and i never ever touched them. actually my microphone work, but only for 3 second, after that the sound slowly gone, not my hardware btw, i try to use external microphone from my brother headset and still not working in my laptop, but it work in his laptop, why?

That was it! I had an important Teams Meeting, camera worked, sound worked, but no mic.
Luckily the meeting was re-scheduled because a couple of key invitees didn't attend.
